LuxembourgThis has been our 7th time in Crete but the first time in Rethymno and in this Hotel. Nautilux has been a really pleasant surprise: the team is always helpfull and nice, the sea is magic and the private beach really well manteined, the 2 pools are amazing and if you choose a room on the main floor you will have direct access to a private warm water minipool. The Spa and its hot pool is well managed. Breakfast and dinner were delicious even at the end of the season.
You can reach the nice Rethymno Ancien center walking 20 minutes on the "lungomare". We will come back. Thanks to the team for the nice stay .

The room was absolutely beautiful and it has everything you could ask for and more. We also really loved the jacuzzi! The breakfast was good. Centuries of History, Days of Sunshine
The largest Greek island, mountainous Crete has stunning beaches, plenty of history and as much or little nightlife as you want. Party town Malia has many bars, clubs and restaurants on its Strip.
Along the coast is the capital Heraklion, a bustling city home to many Crete hotels on the beach, and a Venetian castle guarding its port. Its archaeological museum includes finds from the island’s Minoan era, while just inland are the Roman remains of Knossos.
Also boasting a Venetian castle is Rethymnon, a popular resort with a good number of Crete hotels with private pools on Booking.com. Loggerhead turtles nest in season on the sandy beaches here and at Chania, an important port with an attractive waterfront set against the backdrop of mountains.
On the other side of the island is Aghios Nikolaos, a small fishing town with a picturesque harbour. Just north is Elounda, a popular family resort, and offshore is Spinaloga island, inspiration behind the book ‘The Island’. Matala in the south has a bohemian vibe and intriguing cliff dwellings, while Paleokastro in the east borders Europe’s largest palm forest at Vai.
We could go on and on about magnificent Crete beaches, but whichever resort you choose, you can be almost guaranteed fantastic food and a good helping of sunshine.

This was definitely one of the best hotels we've ever stayed at. From the first to the last moment everything was perfect - every single staff member (reception, restaurants, cleaning personnel and any other service) was extremely lovely and helpful, the rooms were wonderful and spotlessly clean, pool area great and sunbeds very comfortable. The entire complex including the beach was so tidy and clean, I've hardly ever seen such attention to detail. The food was excellent - both breakfast and dinner (we had half board) with plenty of choice, everything freshly prepared and refilled, and amazing personnel both in service and behind the scenes. The evening entertainment was great too! I cannot compliment the hotel management enough for the premises as well as the staff. We will definitely come back.

we loved everything about this lovely hotel, from the moment we arrived, and greeted by and given a tour by the even lovelier Sofia, to when sadly had to say our goodbyes to all the wonderful staff. such an elegantly designed hotel, attentive and big hearted helpful employees on a beautiful spot on one of the best islands on the planet! love Crete and now have a favourite hotel that I will certainly be visiting again!

We had a half-board: it was a variative dinner, with some specialities every evening, and base set of other meals.
It is on a beach side, although need to pay separatelly for a sunbed on the beach. But you can use a pool on the roof with some amount of free sunbeds there.

A perfect distance from Chania old town: close but away from the crowds. Inexpensive and easy to find taxis to and from it. The resort is beautiful and relaxing. Even though it has a pebbly beach, it was not rough as some reviewers described it.

The old town is worth visiting especially during low season, when there is more space and tourists are not jostling for restaurant tables and selfie spots. There are several good restaurants in the old Venetian port, look for places where locals are eating.

We were sadly only here for a quick overnight stay. But during our week in Crete - where we travelled to Chania, Heraklion, and Rethymno - Rethymno was by some margin my favourite destination. Where Chania's historic centre felt as if it had been totally given over to tourism, Rethymno felt more like a substantial town with plenty to explore.

Difficult to judge because we came early in the season when there was a cold wind blowing and not all the places were open. However, there didn't seem to be many places to eat [not a problem for us as there was one excellent place, though would be a problem peak season] . There were a number of apparently abandoned and ill-maintained buildings, which made the place appear less attractive.

It was about a ten minutes walk uphill part way to Koutouloufari, loads of restaurants and bars, a fabulous experience. Walk a little further and you come to Piscopiano, also excellent. Walk down the hill and you come to restaurants with Greek dancing and plate smashing, also excellent.

Visited at the beginning of October and a lot of places beginning to close for the season. Town quiet but pleasant. Unfortunately the ferry to Agios Nikolaos does not run anymore so it’s a long drive if you want to visit

The perfect place for peaceful vacation.
The perfect place for peaceful vacation. The city itself is nice but not something extraordinary, but you get the best food in Greece alongside the best beaches in the World! Try Psarropoula, Kakkos and all other beaches in Ferma area.
Make beautiful trips to Chryssi Island or Agios Nikolaos (30min), Siteia (45min), Vai, Oropedio Lasithiou etc.

For those who want a quiet get-away and yet close shopping, Kissamos is hard to beat. Close to the port for Balos-Gramvousa excursions and secluded for a wonderful relaxed time with your loved one. Gramvousa Restaurant is a must, a short drive to a memorable dining experience. Loved snorkeling and fish sightings around rocky areas. Pictures cannot capture the panoramic breath-taking setting.
