We had such a wonderful stay — from start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. The room was beautifully designed, and we truly appreciated the thoughtful touches, like complimentary water, coffee, and high-quality toiletries, which made the experience feel extra special. What really stood out was the exceptional service. Every staff member we encountered was warm, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. They went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. A special shoutout to Dior and her team for doing such an amazing job! We also loved the location — it was perfect for exploring the area while still offering a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Overall, this stay made our trip truly memorable. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a well-run, outstanding place to stay.

We absolutely loved our stay at Divino Caldera! The view is breathtaking, and the location is perfect. It was peaceful and away from the chaos. Every detail in the room was incredible, and the girls at the reception were the sweetest and most attentive people ever. The breakfast? 200/100, simply amazing! We’d stay here again without a doubt.

Great stay in Divino Suites, beautiful and clean property, with all the facilities, nice location 5 min walking to center on Fira. Lovely terrace with an amazing jacuzzi. Only problem was the 2 twin beds, I would prefered a king size bed instead the twins put it together. But anyway bed was comfortable, and in that kind of place and location, at least for me, you will like to stay awake hahaha, so no problem at all. Thanks Anna, if we'll comeback to Santorini, for sure we will repeat with you. Reta, the owner of the suite is beyond hospitable and friendly. She went out of her way to make sure I had everything I needed. She is super responsive. I stayed one week and worked remotely at night with the option to watch the beautiful sunset from the rooftop terrace. The Internet connection was strong, no issues at all. The suite and bed were very comfortable. Everything was sparkling clean. There is a lot of attention to details and she provides everything you need and more. I had a copious hand-delivered breakfast, including a big bottle of cold water every morning and she would treat me to local homemade specialties. I loved my stay there, it was really the perfect choice for me. The location is also amazing and the views are breathtaking. It is a few steps from many restaurant options, mini markets, the bus stop and a pharmacy, but it is at the same time very peaceful and quiet. No crowds at all. Parking was also very easy.

Santorini Highlights

Watch the sunset in Oia

Oia’s stunning blue roofs and whitewashed buildings are an instantly recognisable scene. Sunset around the castle attracts flocks of budding photographers daily.

Museum of Prehistoric Thera

Set in historic Fira, this fascinating museum tells the story of the island’s prehistoric periods through exhibitions of pottery, ancient tools and weapons.

Cable car ride from Fira's Old Port

If you’re not afraid of heights, catch the cable car from Fira’s Old Port up to the town. The 3-minute climb offers stunning sea views.

Akrotiri Archaeological Site

Destroyed during the island’s volcanic eruption and excavated in 1967, the prehistoric settlement of Akrotiri is said to have been Plato's inspiration for Atlantis.

Kamari's open-air cinema

Listed as one of Europe’s best, Kamari’s open-air cinema offers the chance to kick back in a deck chair with a cocktail under the stars.

Perissa and Perivolos' beaches

The 7-km-long Perissa Beach is recognisable by its volcanic black sands and the imposing Mesa Vouno Mountain, which emerges from its crystal-clear waters.

Wine tasting in Pyrgos

Pyrgos’ hilltop setting provides a great spot for sampling celebrated Santorini wines, accompanied by spectacular sea views.

Santorini's Red Beach

This small beach’s striking red volcanic sands and rock formations hug a piece of secluded coastline south of Akrotiri.

Santorini's volcano and Thirasia Island

No visit to Santorini would be complete without a trip over to its volcano and hot springs, followed by a traditional meal on Thirisia Island.

FAQs about hotels in Santorini

A Greek Island Dream

Imagine a typical Greek island with whitewashed houses, blue-domed churches and sloping cliffs, and the chances are that you’re thinking of Santorini. Protectively curving around 4 other islands in its archipelago, this volcanic island has fertile ground bringing forth lovely rosé wine and some of the sweetest cherry tomatoes you’ll ever taste.

High on a caldera shelving into the sea, the capital Fira overlooks the cruise liners plying the turquoise Aegean waters below. North is Imerovigli, home to several 5-star Santorini hotels with fantastic views.

Also providing amazing views is the accommodation in Oia across the bay. Cascading down the slopes, the sea of white here is only dispersed by vibrant pink flowers, blue domes and the brown of ancient windmills, all becoming black silhouettes as the sun sets.

Santorini Airport is on the other side of the island and 2 resorts south of it – Kamari and Perissa – have the best, black sand beaches. However, the most visually impressive is Red Beach at Akrotiri where the stunning red colour of the caldera and sand makes the trek down the rockface well worth it. Just time it right to avoid high tide! Also near Akrotiri are excavations of a Minoan era settlement.

Wherever you choose to stay, Booking.com has a fantastic range of B&Bs, apartments and hotels in Santorini (Thira in Greek).

I stayed 3 nights and managed to do quite a lot, however, I think 1-2 extra days is required to see all there is to offer. I never managed to get to Red Beach which I think I could have managed if I’d stayed one extra night.

Oia is all about the view. Spectacular. It is packed with tourists for a well deserved reason. It is totally touristy, expensive, but we can overlook that and the crowds because of that view. Finikia, just adjacent is much quieter. Still, Oia is Oia, only one. Very much recommend Roka restaaurant.

We found it a great location, as it was quiet and had some of the best views of the island. We were still close enough to Fira to visit on foot, and there were good transport links to get elsewhere as well. Plenty of good and varied restaurants, some of which were real gems

A pleasant beach resort when you need to get away from the madness of Fira and Oia. It has everything you expect a beach resort to have. The buses to visit the rest of the island are cheap and easy to use. The taxis are extortionate. A huge selection of tavernas and bars to try. However, I wish the restaurant owners would just let you read the menu before they pounce to try and lure you in. Choosing a restaurant for dinner was simply exhausting in dealing with pushy (but charming!) owners. In the end we resorted to online reviews to make our life easier!

Having stayed two weeks in Perissa, I dare say I know it a bit. It's a great mix of not too big of a town, plenty of groceries shopping spots, Restaurants with some great offers, nice beaches (even though one has to get used to black sand) and cultural spots like a very nice Orthodox Church and some historic ruins if you dare to hike a bit. It's wasn't too crowded either, so if you consider going, do so Early - Mid September.

Liked that it was away from Fira. Fira so crowded. One day 6 cruise ships in Port. We ate 2 nights at Romantica taverna. Traditional Greek restaurant, good food and happy staff. Easy to walk around in you don't mind stairs and uphill. Walk from Fira to Oia 10km, something to do and overview of area.
