Rahman the room attendant was delightful and cleaned and made our room beautifully. The Nepalese waiter helped beyond the call of duty when my grandson injured his ankle on the beach. The bedrooms and bathrooms are fabulous with superb aircon. The breakfast was the best we’ve ever had in an hotel. The buffet offered a huge selection and cooked breakfast was readily available.

I stayed at this wonderful hotel with my children (7 and 10 years old) for five days (May 20–25, 2025). We weren’t very lucky with the weather—there were a couple of rainy days—but the hotel, the staff, the food, and the service were absolutely amazing!
Here are some highlights:
1. We were checked in very quickly. Our room had a large bed and two sofas, and everything was perfectly prepared for the kids—from sleeping arrangements to hygiene supplies.
2. The staff were extremely friendly everywhere: at reception, in the bars, in the restaurant—everyone was ready to help. For example, I needed salt at 10 p.m. to make a gargle solution for my child, and it was sorted out within two minutes!
3. The breakfast was excellent—abundant, delicious, and varied. Warm croissants, several stations for eggs and grilled vegetables, fresh fruit, a separate cheese counter, local sausages, pâtés, olives—everything was truly delicious!
4. Dinner: every evening featured a variety of grilled fish and meats, a dedicated cheese station, a great selection of seasonal fruits, desserts, ice cream, a wide array of vegetables and salads (it’s hard not to gain a few extra kilos!).
5. Delicious cocktails in all the bars.
6. For kids: everything from a mini disco to a large play area with mazes and game consoles (for older children), a magician, interactive games, and dancing. It was all simply fantastic!
We will definitely be coming back, and I highly recommend this hotel!
The only downside was the rain—but, of course, that’s not the hotel’s fault.

My family really enjoyed the whole stay. The mobile home was new, clean and well equipped. We loved spending breakfast time and evenings on our patio with curtains - what a good idea! Beach was a short walk away and was clean. The same the swimming pool - only shame it closes so early at 6pm. All toilets and shower books were in a perfect condition anywhere around the campsite.

We loved everything! The hotel is very clean, with plenty of facilities for children and adults. The pool area is large, clean and tidy. The water in the pool was very warm! The food was exceptional! Excellent quality and variety of the dishes. Plenty of fish and meat options as well as vegetarian dishes! I would truly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Porec!

Totally family friendly hotel with lots of activities for children from toddlers to adolescents. Amazing choice of food for breakfast and dinner. Location is nearby the beach and pedestrian zone to the center of town. Bar in the hotel offers amazing sort of drinks and staff is always available. All in all, place for leisure and pleasure for whole family.

I have been visiting Poreč for more than 10 years, and it is always a wonderful experience. It’s a very beautiful town with a charming atmosphere, lovely beaches, and plenty to see and do. Every visit feels special, and I will definitely keep coming back.

Vrsar was charming and small, much more welcoming than over-crowded Rovinj. We got a nice welcome and great tips from our host and felt a much more local-friendly vibe. Services were good quality and there were fewer tourist traps than in Rovinj. Overall a very cosy, relaxing experience, I wish we could have stayed longer.

Funtana itself is a small place.
Funtana itself is a small place. A few (very good) restaurants, a big supermarket, a marina. And a few very big camping sites.
So it's not a place where you have a boulevard to walk in the evening with shops and a lot of people.
These are in cities like Porec, 10 kilometers away.
For us it was perfect, we took the car and came back in a calm and peaceful place.
Without a car you might get bored.

Vabriga is a small village but located in a short drive distance from all near by beaches abs towns. Great to retreat to after a busy day out. There is no beach that is good walking distance but all nearby beaches are around 10-15 min car drive away.

Very nice city, with wonderful old town and nice beaches. The restaurants are good as well, and anybody can find something to pass the time. The nightlife is very active, there are many oppurtinites to have a party. Who is looking for a more quiet holiday, they should consider book their aparment away from the city center. The beaches are good but sometimes overcrowded. If you plan to visit other places in Istria, Porec is a good "home base". Everything is 50-70km away.

Atmospheric small town with harbour. Lots of super eating places. Old town on the hill full of cafes and easily accessed by charming road train. Miles of traffic free cycle and walking paths adjoining the sea to nearby resorts including FKK in Koversada. Excellent facilities for all family ages.

Funtana is a typical Croatian holiday village with huge campings and amusement park. Everything you need is in a close distance. Very nice fish food restaurant MORE, Spacious city beach with free parking and facilities (beach club). Very close to Vrsar or Porec bigger cities and the Lim fjord. The area has plenty of small islands accessible by SUP.

Poreč is truly worth visiting. It is a charming coastal town where you can feel the beauty of the Adriatic and see traces of 2000 years of history. It is a place where every corner tells a story and where the past meets the present in the most beautiful way.

Too,Too, Crowded. People on top of people. parking was an issue, along with the amount of children in our area. It was literally a playground. The trailer we rented had sliding door issues. The door fell off of it's track every single time we tried to close the sliding door. The toilets took and extremely long time to fill, and the soap dispensers in the bathrooms were empty. All in all, I do not think I would stay here again. Valkanela "Packs Too Many People" into it's campground, making it hard just to move around. Every little space has someone pitching a tent, or trying to shoehorn a caravan into a small spot. I watched as families struggled to navigate the campground trying to park their vehicles, and had no assistance from the staff.
As for your stay you are exhausted by the end of the day navigating cars, bikes, scooters, motorcycles, delivery vans, and people to say it was a relaxing vacation. Then there are the roads in the camp ground, far too narrow for cars, bikes, scooters, and children running in the street. Once again all said, this campsite will never see me again, and what makes it more of a shame is that I have family that owns a trailer on this property, so you would think that it makes it convenient for me to stay at this campsite, but it simply was not as advertised.
Lastly, Valkanela really needs to open more counters in the Arrival/Departure area of the admin building. Two lines do not cut it. There are 25-30 people standing on line trying to check in and out, It takes an hour easy. Ridiculous.
For the expensive stay that it was, Never again for me!
