A Feast For the Eyes
Comprised of brightly coloured villages cascading down sheer cliffs, the Amalfi Coast is on the opposite side of a peninsula from Sorrento. Between the UNESCO World Heritage-listed villages are lemon groves and winding roads hugging the coastline that are definitely not for the nervous driver!
In wonderful Positano, delicately positioned houses somehow manage to cling to the cliffs. The next village along is Praiano, on a flatter piece of land and with a 12th-century church. Furore in the hills above a fjord has its own winery.
Amalfi itself is picturesque, as it rises from the harbour to the top of its 13th-century cathedral. As the coast’s largest town, it has a good selection of bars, restaurants and accommodation. Adjoining it is Atrani, a fishing village with a dramatic, beachside road supported by arches.
High above is Ravello whose Villa Rufolo’s landscaped gardens offer magnificent panoramas of the coastline below. Due to its position, this town boasts the Amalfi Coast hotels with the best views and, of course, prices to match. Back at sea level Minori and Maiori have the longest beaches.
Due of all this splendor, you might struggle to find cheap Amalfi Coast hotels, but there is also a selection of affordable apartments and B&Bs on Booking.com, and in any case the fantastic views makes the price well worth it.

Poble bonic però amb preus abusius arreu, superiors als d'altres llocs d'Itàlia, com per exemple Nàpols. Dificultat extrema per a aparcar. No hi ha platges públiques gratuïtes, cal pagar i el preu és molt car.

Amalfi és un poble molt bonic a la vora del mar però que...
Amalfi és un poble molt bonic a la vora del mar però que s'enfila a la muntanya. La zona més turística es peatonal. El principal problema és l'aparcament, car i escàs. La platja és de sorra negra, com a tota la Costa Amalfitana. Hi ha autobusos, fèrries i barques per visitar els pobles propers. També es pot anar amb vaixell a les Illes properes. No et descuïdis de visitar la catedral, val molt la pena.

És dels pobles més grans i això es nota en l’ambient, menys bucòlic que els altres, però molt viu i amb moltes opcions. És un bon poble base per anar a la resta de pobles de la zona (i més assequible que Amalfi).
