United StatesEverything was so amazing from the moment we arrived till the moment we left. Very helpful and friendly staff. The shuttle was great. Always available and if we had to call for it from the town, we didn’t have to wait too long. It was very convenient that we were able to purchase lift tickets and rent the skies right there. Also they had a locker for the skis that we brought with us. Breakfast was very good as well. We really enjoyed the spa and a massage there.

AustraliaOur family of four recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Rascard for five nights for a skiing holiday. It is a family-run hotel and it was a pleasure dealing with the hotel staff, especially Manuela and Maurizio. The breakfasts were fabulous and we dined every night at the hotel (since we were without a car, it would have been difficult to dine anywhere else, but dinners were just as fabulous as the breakfasts). The beds were extremely comfortable and the facilities were immaculate. My husband and two daughters rented their ski gear from the ski hire shop at the foot of the Salette gondola lift and were able to leave it there every night. They made good use of the free shuttle service that the hotel provides to the gondola lift, leaving at 9am and returning each afternoon to the hotel at around 4pm. As I do not ski, I remained at the hotel, and it is worth mentioning that the hotel is on the outskirts of Valtournenche and the road into the village is very unsafe for pedestrians. All in all it was a lovely stay and I can highly recommend this hotel to other travellers.

A very nice and comfortable hotel with top notch service and hospitality. The hotel is walking distance from the Cervinia ski cable and restaurants, shops.
We had a 2 bedroom, 1 bath unit and it came with a fridge/mini bar that can be stocked on request and TV in each bedroom. The beds were large and comfortable and the bedrooms were spacious with a lot of moving space and views to the mountains.
The bathroom is modern clean, spacious and stocked for a multi day/night stay.
We had breakfast and the bread, cheese and cold cut meat was tasty and so fresh that I am still longing to go back.
Ladies at the front desk were welcoming and friendly. They seem to be the family that owns the hotel and were helpful with local recommendations.
There is also a drop off service to the Cervinia cable car/ski resort.
Overall a great place to stay and I would definitely recommend.

This hotel is true, old world, alpine luxury. The location is exquisite - in the beautiful valley at the base of the Matterhorn (Cervino); ask for a room with THAT view. They accommodate pets. But it all starts with the staff - all with excellent attention to details, helpful and friendly. Go to their bar and sample cocktails at the huge lobby fireplace or outside. Special note of the barman, who new his stuff. The SPA is excellent and very clean. The rooms are great, with all amenities.

The apartment is very nice and comfortable, clean and modern. It is a skiing apartment, not exaclty for couples. The village and the nature are butiful, Alpine style, not less than expected. A bar is few steps away, Cervinia is 5 minutes by car, parking is in front of the house. Unfortunatelly, we didn't meet the host, but they gave us proper instructions and directions, so we didn't have any difficulties finding it and getting accomodated. Generally, all recomendations.

The staff was OUTSTANDING. A family operated hotel since 1961, this hotel has recently been upgraded and the rooms are fantastic—far beyond what you would expect in a small town and a quaint inn. If you’re looking for a comfy, classic mountain town inn with all the comfort of a modern hotel, this is the place.

There was a pool (heated) and dry/wet sauna. We booked a massage and it was awesome, too. We had our dog with us and she was able to run all over the back of the property which after being in Milan and on leash.. she was loving. The view of the mountains was amazing.

The room was clean and decently equipped with kitchen and other necessities. The owner was friendly and hospitable. The two big dogs accompanying the owner are very friendly, despite their appearance. Nice food at the restaurant (probably managed by other people).

Cosy Italian village with shops /ski rental / hotels and a few bars . Cheaper alternative to Cervinia or Zermatt. Ski lifts connect to the Cervinia ski area but it does take over an hour to get there on long slow lifts .

Small town with a couple of decent restaurants. Good sized supermarket which stocked most things. Overall a good location to base from if you are ok to go up and down the valley and don't want to be in Cervinia with the crowds !

It is a cute little ski resort best for the family with small children or beginner skier.
There were less people on weekdays so we did not wait for a lift at all.
Driving 30-40mins you can get to the Cervino ski paradise. You will find the hotel much cheaper in Torgnon.
There are a small supermarket and few restaurants in a village but if you have a car, in 10 mins drive you will find many options.

Nice little village with lovely people and a couple of nice places to eat in the day and early evening. The shop was open most of the week and had a good range even though it was small. There was plenty of parking in the carpark for our car (and a great price for the week) at the bottom of the cable car which ran every half an hour from 7:30am to 10:30pm. Good value tickets for the two of us for 10 rides each which is all we needed for our week's holiday. The walks from Chamois were really lovely although quite hard going up and down the mountains which were quite steep but worth the views from the top. In season you can get a chair lift but we liked the challenge!! One week was plenty for us, we had a fab time and glad it wasn't too hot for our walks.

High resort that means it's usually snow sure and even if you can't get into Switzerland there is plenty of skiing to keep you occupied. A quicker connection to CH would be lovely and I know there is one planned for the future.
Good choice of bars a restaurants and for an all night tasty snak The Black Hole is superb.
Loved Le Moulin Valtournenche for a great value pizza.

This is a small to medium village in the mountains.
Lovely atmosphere when walking through the village.
Tourist Information Centre for the village and surrounding area available.
Plenty of restaurants /cafes to choose from and even a cheese factory!
I hate large crowds so Valtournenche was perfect size for me : )

Such a beautiful town!
Such a beautiful town! I felt like I had a much better spot than the other little towns nearby just because of the ease of access to the Matterhorn hiking area. I just walked out my door and it was right there, no driving necessary. Also, it was extremely convenient to come down off the mountain and just grab some dinner.

Beautiful mountain village with little specialty shops and wonderful food. Valtournenche is only 15minutea away from the famous and very busy Cervinia. Better to stay here than in Cervinia. More authentic mountain village.
