FAQs about hotels in Lombardy
Sophisticated and Serene
The diverse region of Lombardy touches the 3 largest Italian lakes: Lake Garda, Lake Maggiore and Lake Como. Their beautiful shores house many Lombardy luxury hotels and even more luxurious celebrity residences.
The rich and famous also flock to Milan, one of the world’s fashion capitals, where designer boutiques are found alongside La Scala opera house and the iconic San Siro football stadium. To the south, Pavia is best known for its elaborate monastery, while Monza to the north-east hosts the F1 Italian Grand Prix and World Superbike Championship.
Nearby Bergamo is the hub for cheap flights to Milan and it also has a historic old town, while to its east is peaceful Lake Iseo. A smaller lake is located by Varese, and artificial lakes also almost entirely surround the important medieval city of Mantua, seat of the Gonzaga court during the Renaissance.
Brescia to the north-west has monuments dating back to Roman times, while Cremona to the south-west has an impressive cross-shaped cathedral and huge belltower. This beautiful city is on the Po, Italy’s longest river which forms part of the Lombardy border.

- From BGN 574.97 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 889 reviewsWe had a wonderful stay at Casa sull’Albero in Malgrate, right by Lake Como. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a corner room on the first floor, offering spectacular lake views. The room was spacious, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and the views from the windows were simply breathtaking. The breakfast was excellent, with a variety of delicious options, and the staff was friendly and attentive, making our stay even more enjoyable. We were also traveling with our small dog, who was warmly welcomed throughout the hotel, making it a truly pet-friendly experience. Although the hotel is small, we appreciated having access to the facilities of a slightly larger hotel from the same group, located just a short walk away along a beautiful path. Overall, a fantastic experience that we would highly recommend!Guest review byMartínSpain
- From BGN 598.24 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very good - What previous guests thought, 3,760 reviewsFantastic hotel. Spent there almost a week. The staff, facilities, SPA, variety of food for a breakfast with really good coffee - everything was perfect. They made everyday cleaning and they always waited until we leave with our dogs. The size of the bed was unbelievable, and the room itself including a bathroom was really big. We had a lake view room with huge window, and probably it's nice to sit outside on the balcony in summer. Also they provide bathrobes and nice slippers, it's very convenient to use them to go to the SPA or just in the room. We would definitely choose this hotel one more time.Guest review byOlenaUkraine

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 249 reviewsWe were looking for a place from where we can make trips to south&north of the region and Manerba was the perfect spot. The camp is situated at the very coast of the lake so can take peaceful walks along the beach. Plenty of shade from the trees, everything was very clean. Promised myself to return 😊.Guest review bySUZANE MARIACroatia

It is a wondeful city with Ferries' pier, making it easy to reach and explore all famous cities of the lake Como (Menaggio, Bellagio, Varenna). One must be ready to wake up early, at 6 AM to buy full-day Ferry ticket. Once it is done, the Como lake can be explored freely with no need to stay in the queues.Guest review byVladislavItaly - 10.0

The old town of Bergamo is fascinating and well worth a visit. We spent one whole day slowly walking around the old Venetian city walls - with stops at cafes along the way. We would definitely recommend doing this. There are spectacular views and you really get a sense of the history of Bergamo.Guest review byStephenUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Wonderful city, full of beauty, charm, history, great beaches and restaurants. Quite busy with travelers but not extremely busy I would say. Closely located to other towns which are worth visiting with just a short 15-min drive. Great clean beaches with warm water, child friendly. Lots of beautiful nature.Guest review byKonstantinNetherlands - 10.0
A centrally located resort on the lake.
A centrally located resort on the lake. Lots of parking, loads of restaurants, we had super meals at Animo pizza and La Brasserie 15. Highly recommend hiring a boat with dolphin boats and going out on the lake - 3 hours was just about enough time. Absolutely huge market on Tuesday morning. Central location to visit towns either side of the lake. Much preferred Desenzano to the much busier and more touristy resorts of garda and bardolino.Guest review bySarahUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Having spent 311 nights in Limone you must understand that we like it and the surrounding north Lake Garda area. Last year it was selected as the most superb flower decorated town in Italy and at the international competition won the top five 'petals' in it's category of small resorts. The winter population is 1200 people but usually busy with visitors from the end of April till mid October. The only criticism this year is that I detected a cigarette end on some steps! Standards are slipping but the Mayor, Il Sindaco, was quite distressed. If in doubt just go and you will not be disappointed.Guest review byDuncanUnited Kingdom - 6.0

Hotel easy to find although there was some confusion at the airport as to where the free airport shuttle bus left from but perhaps the driver was just having an off day. The room was well equipped and spacious but we had no hot water in the morning. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Staff were very helpful and friendlyGuest review byMargaretUnited Kingdom - 10.0

A must visit city, far better experience than over touristy Verona, for example. Many museums and sites of interest, laid back vibe at night , lots of restaurants with great variety of cuisines, mainly "locals" from suburbs or the old town, chilling in a very pleasant atmosphere, amazing historical buildings and Italian charm. Has all the architecture of "typical" Italy, but without the crowds.Guest review byMichaelUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Bellagio is a beautiful place, though it can be quite busy and crowded. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by an unpleasant encounter with a policewoman who was not friendly at all. We had just arrived and accidentally parked in a residential parking area. Despite our attempt to explain the mistake and our immediate departure, she issued us a ticket. On top of our already tight schedule, we then had to spend time figuring out how and where to pay the fine.Guest review byR YRCanada - 10.0

Beautiful countryside and perfect for walking or cycling in the hillsides around the village, plus some really nice restaurants open late into the evening filled with people who all appeared to be having a good time. Also great to be able to do some duty free shopping.Guest review byBruceUnited Kingdom
