Great place to unplug, explore an old hilltop town, hiking nearby - all the way to cinque terra (3hrs) - also a van will take you and drop you off early morning and pick you up evening time for fee. La Spezia about 20mins away - can park car at train station there and train in to cinque terra - or take ferry from there. Slow down - relax - enjoy! Stayed in 3 bedroom annex ground floor short walk from parking - spacious, everything needed to cook, place was clean. Hotel has other options.

The bar and restaurant served good fresh food and there is off road parking in a large car park behind the hotel. I was in a quiet annex in a building a couple minutes walk away. Just off the motorway, it was a really convenient stop off. I was travelling with my dog and there is a large park where I could walk him safely off lead nearby. Only downside was the extreme heat and no air conditioning, but there was a fan, and for the price of the room it wasn’t expected. I stayed at Casa Faggiona. Calm place in the countryside, ideal for relaxation. Clean house i.e., living room, bedroom and bathroom. Good size of rooms and comfortable beds. All facilities present in the house e.g. Wi-Fi, TV, Dishes, Cups, Liquid Soap, Towels etc... Helpful owner left clear instructions in the house and was prompt in coming when we contacted her. If a true borgho experience is what you look for than come to Casa Di Gaia. Dino the fabolous host made the renovation of this borgho his life passion. The room is moden and comfortable, but the surrounding atmosphere is a true charm, one that you can experience only in the Cinque Terre region. City of Brugnato is small, but cozy. There are a couple of nice local restaurants in the city for which I suggest an advance booking, especially over weekends. The owner of the facility has all the telephone numbers listed on the info board in the reception. Very nice small town, super train connection to La Spezia, where you can start your trip to Cinque Terre and also Pisa you can reach easy with the train. The town is nice but if you are there it’s probably for visiting 5terre, which is really overrated and overpriced tourist attraction, with no respect for tourists.
