MexicoWhat can I say...marvelous stay. It was my girlfriend's birthday and they decorated as requested. Clean hotel, amazing staff, good complimentary breakfast, umbrellas available when it rains and pretty decent location next to the river. I even extended my stay for an extra night of how much we enjoyed this hotel.
I definitely recommend it.

AustriaLocation was good, although a few minutes walking distance from major sights and attractions. But all doable by foot or bike and metro station connecting to Kyoto central station is close by (3 mins).
Convenience stores around the corner (Family Mart, 7 Eleven) as well as restaurants and a superb (!!!) coffee place (named In the Coffee).
Staff were friendly and helpful. Possibility to store luggage upon early arrival as well as late departure. Would be nice to have a safe/lockbox in-room, but we just took our valuables (esp. passports & wallets) with us when leaving the room. Didn't have breakfast or dinner but there were special offers, happy hour and even a DJ hosting the evenings available. Looked nice.
Room is small - as expected in Japan - but everything available that's needed and options to store luggage under the bed.
Would definitely recommend and come back when in Kyoto again! Arigato gozaimashita, ASAI Kyoto team.

Wow. This hotel completely exceeded my expectations. The rooms were huge, bright and very well stocked. The washer/dryer in the room was a godsend for us as a family with a baby and the bathroom was luxurious with a freestanding bathtub. The staff are very welcoming and downstairs there is a cafe and salad bar all with fresh colourful ingredients. This hotel was 1/3 the price of the more popular family suites chain in Japan but it was every bit as good if not better

Facilities were great and it was very clean and well-maintained. Location was very convenient, we even had a view of Kyoto station. Though a bit of a tight fit, which is normal in Japan, it was still very comfortable and every bit of space was purposeful. We could still open 2 large luggages, not all the way though. Everything was provided. Really good value for money ☺️

A lovely country where respect for each other is normal anywhere you go. Really lovely food too at reasonable prices.

We did not know what to expect.
We did not know what to expect. Our visit was in December so it was pretty quiet. We had rain the first day but we were able to do most of the highlights on day 2. We walked the entire beach path had lunch and walked it back. Very nice walk.

The staff was awesome! They did everything in their power to ensure I had a pleasant stay. Room is extremely small by US standards! Room could use a microwave, the only one available was on the ground floor and I was on the 7th.

Kameoka is the starting point of the famous and historical Hozu River rafting ride that takes you to Arashiyama, home of the famous bamboo forest. Enjoy the rafting, enjoy Arashiyama and take the train back to Kameoka. Hotel is a 5 minute walk from the station. A perfect day.

Gionmachi is a wonderful section of Kyoto and offers much to see and experience. It is easy, maybe 15 to 20 minutes taxi to other areas of Kyoto that are also beautiful, historical and traditional. Overall, this is a place I would come back to because I have much more to see.

We definitely could have spent more time in Kyoto.
We definitely could have spent more time in Kyoto. We did manage to partake in the Hozugawa River ride and that was stunning and a highlight for our group. Navigating the train network was easier than expected. Will be back and allocate more time for Kyoto.

Miyazu which includes Amanohashidate, is one of three natural sites in Japan. The land bridge spans across the sea is fun to view from the observation points (on both sides) and you can actually bike (20 minutes) or walk (50 minutes) one way across. A small town with lots of charm and beauty.

If you are sightseeing in Kyoto, Nara, or Osaka for a few days, staying at this facility and using Kameoka as your base will be the best way to travel to Kansai.
Like taking a day trip from your home.
If your schedule is 2 nights and 3 days or 3 nights and 4 days, it is definitely a good deal even if you add transportation expenses. You can't stay in a house in Kyoto or Nara.

I loved this hotel!!! The service was outstanding. The rooms were beautiful and clean. The location was perfect - close to town but not in town. We walked everywhere and felt very safe. Close to the train station as well. I will certainly stay here on my next trip to Kyoto.

I love Kyoto because it has a good mix of old and modern.
I love Kyoto because it has a good mix of old and modern. Try to stay in Gion and Arashiyama and both have different embience. Minimum 2 nights stay each would be good. Have been to Kyoto 3 times and I will go back again.
