We stayed for two night during our honeymoon and couldn’t be happier with the experience.
It was an authentic yet luxurious Ryokan. Our room was beautifully decorated, spotless and it even had its own onsen. The food was exceptional and the staff was very well trained and extremely friendly. Highly recommended this hotel and would love to go back on day.

SpainSuper easy to find, a short walk from the station. There were free pastries and drinks available on arrival. Later on, there seemed to be free alcoholic drinks and snacks available in the dining room. It was help yourself with no staff in sight...unless I misunderstood something?!? The hotel and room had a great view of the town and surrounding mountains and was easy to reach from both the snow monkey park and Nagano. The room was very large and futon beds were comfortable. We also tried the onsen, which was great and completely empty! We tried to gave dinner there but were told we had to have reserved ahead of time. Not sure how we would have done that.

SingaporeLocation was great, just across the road for chairlift (you can’t possibly be any nearer) and 2 min walk to another chairlift that brings you up to connect to other ski fields
We enjoyed the all inclusive, dinner for 5 days was not repeated for mains, some sides repeated overall meals while not fancy, they were tasty and you won’t go hungry. Bath was also great way to start and end the day. The staff is the best, smiling elderly aunties and front desk.

I never experienced such VIP service otherwise in the world. Whole reception teams demonstrated what extraordinary service should be. I arrived late by bus and was welcomed by one receptionist in bus stop. so I did not need to carry my luggage in the snowing road. They even opened the ski rental shop for me after working hour. The next morning, I missed public shuttle bus and they offered to use hotel shuttle bus to drive me over to ski lift in Yakebitaiyama without reservation in advance. I felt that I was living with a lot of friends instead of living in hotel. I was too tired to try the bar at night, and I would like to try it next time. Swimming pool was good with quite warm water. Hot bathing place with best view. Sun rising over snow mountain top. Breakfast was very good with many variations. The dinner I ordered was pork hotpot, and personally I think the starter tasted better and pork meat is okay. I will try something else next time. All in all, the service and room condition are all top.

The service was incredible, from the time we booked to the last goodbye. It was our first time in Japan and for most of us, our first time skiing. Naoko helped us with absolutely everything, booking extra space for our friends, booking the right tickets for ski lifts, guiding us where to go, looking for ski school, renting gear and equipment, taking buses, you name it! Always so kind and calm! Everyone in the hotel was extremely friendly and helpful. The place is really clean and like a home! You can pretty much ski from the hotel car park! Food was beautiful and it was just so nice to relax in the Onsen after a day of ski and before a feast! Not worrying about restaurants, with 4 teenagers, all we did at night was enjoy their company playing ping pong, cards and chatting about the day! We couldn’t feel more comfortable or welcome!

Every member of staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. They went out of their way to make me feel welcome. As it is a small ryokan, it really felt like the service was personalised. The set dinner menu was absolutely delicious - many and varied courses, expertly prepared.
On the day I left, I needed to get to the train station before the taxi company was open for business. One of the staff kindly drive me to the station.

Staff were so incredibly friendly and accommodating. This was our first time staying at a Ryokan and using an onsen. Staff provided clear instructions so we felt comfortable and prepared to enjoy the onsens. The shuttle to the snow monkey park and to the train station was also such a nice surprise.The rooms are very spacious, they really create a vibe of travelling back in time! Thank you so much!

Totaly awesome staff - 2 guys who speak little bit english, but they are amazing and kind (of course all staff was great)! Everything was fine, dinner and breakfast were rich and everybody could choose his style. Room was cosy and onsens were relaxing. We really enjoyed our time here!!!!! We advise to everybody who wants to feel real Japan!🥰

Fantastic stay in Yudanaka Seifuso. When we arrived the owner brought us to the snow monkey park.
Dinner and breakfast were amazing. As a vegetarian I could fill in a form what my dietary restrictions are (such as no fish broth, no bonito etc.)
It is located near the train station.
The onsen are great ( both private and public)

The room is spacious and Japanese style. The hotel just walk straight around 6 mins behind the tourist information centre, near to bus station and train station. They provide a free simple breakfast. (Bread and Drink) The onsen 👍

The monkeys are marvellous.
The monkeys are marvellous. Of course they are attracted to the valley by the food they receive regularly but they are totally free to come and go. So entertaining and endearing to observe how they interact.
The park was created in 1964. Beautiful forest in a mountainous area that grows apples, peaches and grapes and lots of vegetables.
Pay attention to the hotel you choose. Avoid Hotel Housei.

For a tourist location, it was hard to find restaurants open, or willing to seat us (a party of five). But in general the food was good and the location was great for hot springs and access to the snow monkey park.

The Onsen hot springs experience was unique and for anyone wanting to see how the Japanese hold this aspect of their beliefs in such high regard this area is a perfect example and for a couple of days you can immerse yourself in a different cultural and culinary experience that will be the highlight of your holiday and the truest insight of this unique way of life.
