The onsen was amazing too; anyone traveling here should definitely try it.
In early November, there was no snow on the top of Mount Fuji, something that hasn’t happened in 130 years. :)

New ZealandWe had a good weekend at Kawaguchiko Park Hotel. Friendly staff. Good facilities. We enjoyed the hot springs and massage chairs. The twin room was spacious for the 2 of us. We even had a view of Mt Fuji from our windows, including in the shower! We booked breakfast at the hotel, and that was one of the highlights of the stay. A feast of multiple dishes set out at our table. They made sure we had different dishes each day. The location is close to the lake and within walking distance to the Ropeway and the station.

Service was extremely thoughtful! The server who checked us in escorted us to our room, and even tidied our shoes! At keiseki dinner and breakfast, as a family with kids, the service was very polished, and the server really could anticipate our needs and acted proactively, to the point of surprising us! The meals were elaborate and of extremely high quality. Both the public onsen and the private in-room onsen were excellent. And of course, the view of Mount Fuji was super impressive! All Fufu hotels are designed with maximum customer privacy in mind. While the hotel is not right next to the coast of Lake Kawaguchiko but is instead "hidden" in a valley, the feeling of being inside a forest yet with Mount Fuji still highly visible, the picture is really surprisingly next level! A perfect, perfect stay overall!

The view of mount Fuji from the apartment was just breathtaking, and the apartment itself was super cosy.
The owner is available next door and met us to give us the keys and cooking essentials for our short stay, so that we didn't need to buy oil, salt, etc.
She also insisted to accompany us to the bus stop by car since it was raining, overall just super kind

Amazing location! If the weather allows it, you have a perfect view of Mt. Fuji-san!
The staff were amazing, really helpful and even assisted us with ordering food from outside, as we arrived quite late.
Also the room had an amazing balcony view of the lake & mountains.
The private open air bath was also really great!

Location Location Location. The hotel is next to the Train Station, local shopping stores, restaurants and park which was super convenient to get up and just go and do sight seeing in addition it was nice to see a peak of Mt. Fuji in the background.

For a single room it was fairly spacious compared to other single rooms I've had before. The whole bathroom is higher which is a little weird but not a problem, maybe if you're elderly this would be an issue, otherwise the room was fine, comfy bed.

Great place for Mt Fuji views! Plan to stay minimally 3D/2N for best chance to see Fuji coz weather conditions unpredictable, could be clouded over so 3D stay helps to increase chance of clear views.
Buy the 2D Red/Green tourist bus which allows you to hop on and off anytime. Red route is more touristy and better Fuji views. Green route is more nature sites, good for walks.

Fujiyoshida offers beautiful views of Mt.
Fujiyoshida offers beautiful views of Mt. Fuji — on a clear day, you can see the mountain from almost anywhere in town. It’s very close to Mt. Fuji and other nearby attractions, making it a great base for exploring the area. I actually prefer staying in Fujiyoshida over Kawaguchiko because it’s less crowded but just as convenient and scenic.

Lake Yamanaka is such a pretty place - Mt. Fuji never showed her face during our stay for the icon lake photos but it didn’t take away from the magic. The little town just 20 mins away by bus from our domes was super cute, filled with history, culture, and more shopping.

Kofu is a really cool place.
Kofu is a really cool place. It is central to quite a few places and easy to navigate, whether you have a car or are using the public system. Shopping is great. One piece of advice would be, if you don't speak or understand Japanese, make usre you have google translate or earbuds as no one speaks english there.

Hokuto is a bit of an off-the-beaten-track destination,...
Hokuto is a bit of an off-the-beaten-track destination, perfect for a weekend or even 3 or four days. Surrounded by beautiful nature, it's a great place for hikers - since it's located at the base of the Yatsugatake mountain range. The adventurers can go explore the hiking trails and waterfalls, but also there are charming cafes, art galleries and international cuisine restaurants splattered in the area. I would avoid going there by car on a Saturday morning, because the Chuo Express Road gets packed and it may take up to six hours to get there from Tokyo (the normal is 2 hours). So if you can, go on a weekday.

Breakfast is disappointing, has limited options, no fresh fruits.

A busy little hub.
A busy little hub. Views of Mt Fuji from everywhere on a fine day. Big enough to have numerous restaurants and stores. A big lake with walks and activities. The ropeway and it's views a must stop.

I recommend staying.
I recommend staying. I wrote a long review separately which I hope is useful; please refer to that. In addition, for young children, you can visit the sheep shed where they keep the sheep to see sheep up close, wander down and the up the hill behind reception, and get the best tasting soft serve ever from the restaurant!

We stayed for just one night to have the amazing view and cheaper hostel prices.
One night in yamanakako, one night in kawaguchico, is perfect. Yamanakako is quieter and less touristy, which is exactly what we wanted.
However, the bus schedule limits how many places you can go cuz they come every 1 hr
