HungaryThe hotel looks stunning. It's fully renovated. My room was on the ground floor, which meant that it had a view to the courtyard. It's like a living piece of history. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is a la cart. I tried the eggs benedict and it was excellent. You can also have lunch/dinner in their restaurant. There is also a rooftop bar and swimming pool which unfortunately I could not enjoy as I visited in late November. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Amazing staff, personal care, cleaningless, salt water outdoor pools, location close to paradise bay beach, wonderful buffet for breakfast and dinner, continously refilled. Several salads, variety of fish and meet plates, tasty cakes, and icecream! we arrived late evening, after buffet closure, but the hotel offered cold dinner in our room. we left early, before breakfast opening, but there was a small buffet at the reception with cold breakfast, juice, and coffee!! thank you!

The property was well organized and well worth the money! We stayed with the breakfast included package and the breakfast alone was worth the money we spent. The hotel was clean and the room was excellent with a nice view of the ocean. The pool facilities were also great and having a gift shop in the basement of the hotel was a plus. Overall we wish we could have stayed longer!

Perfect location at the bay, variety of restaurants around the hotel and the sisters’ hotels (11 restaurants) you can have your food and charge to the room, I like the executive lounge at floor 4, quite ambiance and there are some tables outside in the balconies, you can enjoy the drinks and the snacks all day long if you have access to the lounge.

St juliens had lots of bars and restaurants. A short ride with a bus or taxi ride to valleta. The last bus from valetta but to st juliens was too full so i would recommend leaving early or take a taxi. St juliens was not as traditional as valetta in terms of architecture but still had a lot to offer and especially a beautiful stroll by the sea.

Sliema is a practical and lively coastal town, particularly well suited for a city-style holiday. It is not the most beautiful or traditional area in Malta, but it stands out for its convenience. Despite the limited sandy beaches, the long seaside promenade provides easy walking, the sea is always close, and there are plenty of swimming spots.
The area offers a wide range of restaurants, cafés, grocery stores and shopping opportunities. Public transport connections are good, and the ferry to Valletta is fast and convenient. Thanks to its central location, Sliema works well as a base for exploring other parts of Malta.
On the downside, Sliema can be noisy and crowded, especially during peak seasons. The area is densely built up and lacks historical charm and green spaces. The atmosphere is functional rather than picturesque.
Sliema is best suited for travellers who value location, service, and ease of movement over tranquilly and traditional charm. It is a solid base but rarely the highlight of a trip.

St Paul's Bay offers a bit of everything, relaxing places for a swim or a walk. Some historical places. Plenty of places where to eat and enjoy entertainment across all ages, from kids to teens, young adults and older ones. It's a good location for solo, couple, family and group travel.

Valletta is one of my favourite places ever.
Valletta is one of my favourite places ever.
Everything is within walking distance, so once you're there, you can explore on foot. And there are lots of things to see. Such a rich history and fantastic architecture that is being sympathetically restored.
There are plenty of museums and oodles of war history. The Upper Barraka Gardens is a wonderful place to view the Grand Harbour (very impressive) as well as observe the military salutes.
A short ferry across the harbour takes you to the three cities where there's more museums to visit and the Esplora Science Centre and Planetarium, which is great fun.
You won't be short of eating choices here either. Around every turn there's somewhere for you to sit and either grab a quick bite or while away an afternoon watching the world go by.
If you're feeling adventurous you can catch the Fast Ferry over to Gozo - again a highly recommended trip. There's also a ferry over to Sliema should you feel like shopping is your thing.

Mellieha is a lovely peaceful place if your looking for relaxation and a bit of walking and some fabulous views. Ubers are very easy to order to the area if you want to go further afield and these are the places i would recommend that you go and have a look at. The Silent City, lovely for a stroll around the cobbled streets, take a horse and carriage ride the guys are lovely and funny and half an hour is only 30 euros for a carriage of 3 people or mom dad and a couple of small kids. Then i would recommend a ferry ride over to Gozo, We found it better to avoid the tourist boat trips over because you wont have long enough over there to have a look around before you are hoiked back onto the boat. Buy a foot passenger 4 euro return ticked and go straight to Victoria. Bus or Bolt taxi. Its gorgeous. Spend a day walking around the town and seeing the sights and eating at the lovely restaurants. Eat at the Aurora Opera House. Sounds expensive...... well it isnt at all and the food is amazing. 9 euros for a fabulous fluffy pizza and a broad menu too. We were there over xmas and the vibe was perfect. We were a family of 8 with the youngest being 16 so I cant vouch for small person practicalities.

Whilst out of the way of the city the marina area is vibrant and well serviced with bars/restaurants. Pleasant stroll to a decent but small beach with bar/restaurant. Very well served for travel around the island… cheap buses and taxis.

Msida looks like a good midway point between Valleta and...
Msida looks like a good midway point between Valleta and Sliema, but it's really a residential neighborhood with not much to offer to someone coming to Malta for vacation.
In between the constant construction and abandoned and derelict houses, it's quite unsightly.
On the flip-side, since it's residential, you get some good local spots with affordable prices and great quality.

We were glad that we stayed out of the centre of Valletta in this more peaceful area and yet it was very close to the centre and we really enjoyed the walk back to the apartment after visiting Valletta. In the area there are lots of things that are on the Floriana Historic trail.
You are close enough to the centre to walk to restaurants in the evening but we had a lovely meal sat outside at Balzunetta restaurant.

Birżebbuġa is a chill, authentic Maltese seaside town — quieter than the busy tourist spots, with a nice waterfront, great local food, and an easy base for beaches like Pretty Bay and quick trips to Valletta and the south of the island.
