The room was big, nice and clean with a lovely view from the window. Our room was on the ground floor and we could walk to our private beach in and out.
The beds are super comfortable!
The staff was so lovely, always smiling and trying to help with anything.
The location is great and with the best sunset view.
Honestly, we couldn't have asked for more.

From our departure point to the island it took exactly 36 hours … in Male we had a completely pleasant reception by the Ayada team who took us to the airport lounge, carried our bags and boarded us to the island. Upon disembarking, another big surprise was waiting for us to take us by boat to our final destination, arriving there, a warm welcome and Iqu, our assistant for a week, was waiting for us. Nothing could have been more perfect. Our villa inside the ocean and overlooking the sunset was perfect, the crystal clear water invited us every day for a swim. The wonderful restaurants, the employees always with a smile and ready for a good morning, good afternoon, good night. It was worth every hour until we got here … worth every penny invested. We chose the hotel because we wanted the island further away from Male … our choice was the best possible !! Maafushi is, overall, a great place – the people are friendly and welcoming. The weak point is definitely the services. When it comes to hotels, don’t expect luxury. In my opinion, for what you actually get, it’s overpriced. One big plus is that Maafushi gives you more freedom. You’re not tied to a resort – you can move around, explore, go jogging if you want, and enjoy the island on your own terms. Hulhumale despite being busy like the rest of Male has an airy feel to it with lots of greenery - almost colonial. The East side is quiet for traffic although it's close to the seaplane flight paths - I didn't find that intrusive. The West side has the harbour with the ferry terminal and where the liveaboards anchor between trips. When I was there there had been a lot of recent building work so I would avoid staying there. I loved the proximity to Male for ease of arrival and departure. I also loved looking at the city lights from afar, whilst being separated by stunningly turquoise waters and the gentle sounds of lapping waves. The marine life in the lagoon was plentiful and beautiful, and I had many marine visitors near my villa at all hours of the day. The snorkelling with sharks-excursion was probably the single best experience, but the resort itself was the star of the whole experience. We LOVED Dhiffushi! A real taste of a local island, the thing that struck us was how quiet and peaceful it was. We wandered everywhere on foot and loved that the roads are all sand. We were there in monsoon season and experienced some storms but they were short and everyone just gets on with stuff. There was some rubbish washed up on the non-hotel beach areas but most hotels keep their areas spotless. Both bikini beaches were absolutely stunning. The northern part of the island is where are the local village, hotels, restaurants (there is a good selection of them) and shops located. The southern part, in other hand, is covered by lush tropical forest. There are walking paths through the island. The people that work there in the island are very genuine and polite and helpful, always smiling. They make your time there very pleasant. Don’t forget to tip them. We liked almost everything.
We liked almost everything. Our vacation was relaxing and beautiful. The beach was perfect, with soft almost white sand and warm, clear blue water. The bungalow was was really cozy with sun set view. An amazing snorkelling beach -no boats or travel required -just thousands of colourful fish and turtles, perfect white sand and palm trees. The concession stand sold delicious, fresh-picked fruit-watermelon, papaya, bananas.
