A Perfect Getaway at Marriott Pulau Perhentian where the Luxury Meets Nature
My stay at Marriott Pulau Perhentian was beyond amazing, truly a 5-star experience from start to finish. The resort is tucked away in a stunning part of the island, offering crystal-clear waters, powdery white sand, and a serene atmosphere perfect for relaxing and recharging.
The hospitality was exceptional. Every staff member I encountered was polite, helpful, and went the extra mile to make sure I was comfortable and well taken care of. The buggy service around the resort was incredibly efficient and convenient — available at any time with just a quick call. The drivers were always so friendly, and it made getting around the resort so easy and enjoyable, especially after a long day of exploring.
My room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and offered breathtaking views of the ocean and tropical greenery. Housekeeping was impeccable, and the little touches each day made the stay feel truly luxurious.
The food was another highlight fresh, flavourful, and thoughtfully curated. From breakfast to dinner, every meal was delicious. I especially appreciated the variety of local and international options.
Whether it was snorkeling with vibrant marine life, lounging by the beach, or enjoying a romantic dinner by sunset, every moment was memorable.
I highly recommend Marriott Pulau Perhentian to anyone looking for a luxury escape surrounded by natural beauty. Can’t wait to come back!

The location is far from Kuala Terengganu town but the beach here is nicer. We really appreciate all the facilities here, so many seating area, swings, hammocks, gazebo, and water tap. The room are clean, water pressure is ok. Kids loves the pool. Its well maintained chalet. Breakfast is amazingggg. Nasi lemak, teh tarik so good, flowery tea taste.

I only passed by the town during my short trip to tanjong jara. But there’s everything u needed. Drugstore chains, clinics, banks and loads of restaurants with local delicacies. Oh and a visit to Rumah Kraf Batik at Jalan Nibong stesen is a must - a local artisan batik specialist. You can find high quality caftans from various materials; cotton / silk, shirts, baju kurung, parios and scarves.

The hotel is spacious and provided with quite complete facilities e.g. big swimming pools, sauna, Jacuzzi and gym. A good place for short vacation. It's located next to Kijal beach which is clean and my kids likes it alot.
However, the hotel may need upgrading as it's amenities are quite aged.

I had an amazing time visiting Pulau Kapas from Marang. The island is absolutely beautiful — calm, clean, and surrounded by crystal-clear turquoise water. The boat ride from Marang Jetty was short and smooth, only about 10–15 minutes, but it felt like arriving in another world.
The beach was peaceful with soft white sand, and the sea was perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The coral and marine life were so close to shore that I didn’t even need to go far to see colorful fish. It’s a great spot for relaxing and taking beautiful photos.
What I loved most was the quiet and laid-back atmosphere — no crowds, no noise, just the sound of waves. The locals were friendly and helpful, and the small cafés served simple but delicious food.
Just a small note — it’s best to bring your own snacks or drinks, as options on the island are limited, and check the boat schedule ahead of time since it depends on the weather.
Overall, Pulau Kapas is a true hidden gem in Marang. I’d definitely come back again for another peaceful island escape! 💙

There is a lot of building and development going on, and clearly this place has ambitions. There are two massive shopping malls close to the drawbridgewith a great range of shops inside, and the whole city had a very pleasant vibe.

I was in Dungun for a diving trip to the nearby Tenggol Island, which is about 45 minutes speedboat ride from the nearby jetty. There are plenty of good, affordable hotels in Dungun, especially along the road beach plus quite a few homestays around the same area. There are also plenty of restaurants in that area meaning you do not have to travel far away to get food if you stay around the area.

A lot of the mini marts and eateries there mainly cater for tourist so a lot of the prices are a bit on the high side. Even 7-11 is charging more for basic items like tooth paste, shower gels and all.
Alcohol is not available widely, so it's wise to purchase at nearby towns before heading over.

This island is a perfect gateway for families as it is not too far from the mainland and is quiet as compared to other holiday islands in the East Coast. If you have small kids particularly or nature lover ones, then visit Marang and Kapas Island.
