It was for us the ideal place to arrive on Friday evening and do daytrips to Schokland and the wider area on the following weekend days. The forest next to the hotel, with its interesting history (engineering models for waterworks,...) was a welcome and surprising plus. Even on a rainy Sunday, we enjoyed a long walk there on the concrete paths.
Everything felt brand new (and was brand new in fact). The breakfast was great, and also the DuCo restaurant offers great diner options, which we gladly used.
Comfort of the roomy hotelrooms is high level, and the choice of colours in the rooms and hotel creates a relaxing atmosphere.
Also to be mentioned of course is the very friendly and professional staff who make the picture perfect! Thank you!

It is a new city.
It is a new city. I can not say it is pretty, I don't like this ultra modern architecture. The nature is beautiful, lakes and a lot of green areas. Many shops are opened also Sunday afternoon, this makes city alive. Too less (or none) local shops or special things, unique for Almere. Same chains, same food and other type of products. It was very pretty but the weather for our stay was awful. The location is very good for walking, cycling and sailing. Also a good base for travel. Rutten is located between Lemmer and Urk, very peaceful and only a twenty minute drive to either, or half an hour to Lelystad. 15-20 min. Waiting to check in because the restaurant line is priority. They only change the towels not make the bed nor replace shampoo and soap. The room is tiny for 2 people. They said they had sent a mail informing us of the deposit of 100 Euros . We had neither received that nor the information that Anno runs a Disco till 4 in the morning. As two older,very well-educated people, we were very upset about the disturbance. The area around the hotel is prohibited to dogs, we were travelling with two dogs, requested their stay at the hotel but had no information as to the unwelcome state of the dogs in that part of the town.(surrounding the hotel) The staff were extremely unfriendly and quite rude. When asked to call a taxi for our departure,they demurred strongly but did eventually comply with our request. The breakfast was more or less non- existent, consisting of dry bread, tubs of yoghurt, and tea which had to be ordered at the bar, a request that was very slowly complied with, in very bad grace.
