GreeceAlthough in general we have high requirements as guests, the drifter was the best hostel ever for us until now. The location is very convenient, walking distance to the centre. There are many places for socializing and good vibes. Even the kitchen, which is really busy sometimes, helps bringing people closer. Painting and free yoga courses are "plus".

2. The additional sink and tap together with a microoven in the room itsef (outside the toilet & shower) make it practical and convenient for making our hot drinks and getting our water supply.
3. Individual AC in good working condition which we can control the temperature in the room!
4. Strong shower and quality shower gel and body lotion.
5. The design of the toilet allows me to put my toiletries and make up easily.
6. Room service - food available even early in the morning at 2 AM! Order is just at your finger tip via the hotel's tablet.
7. The hotel restaurant food was so delicious and reasonably price!
8. All reception Staff was courteous, reliable and helpful (especiallly Natasha) who helped booked local Tours and Taxi. The recommendation to take bus to Gondola and sea side at New Brighton were wonderful. The bus stop is just 2 to 3 minutes away from the hotel.

CanadaAbsolutely fantastic motel! Extremely clean, kitchenette, comfortable beds. The cafe in the lobby is really great, with excellent customer service. We only stayed for one night between arriving in Christchurch and picking up our camper van, but we would absolutely stay again. The staff was so helpful in providing a late checkout so that we could bring the camper van to the motel to pack up instead of hauling everything to the rental office. This is a motel, not a resort hotel, as a motel it is a 10/10! Couldn’t have asked for better amenities!

i arrived after midnight and left before breakfast. very much appreciated the transport from airport - it was raining, thought I ‘d have to walk to the hotel - previous visits there used to be a free telephone to Sudima in the foyer that I used. Parked in front of the hotel I saw the Sudima vehicle and approached the driver,He was was most helpful and professional.

Great location at the bottom of Lake Pukaki with awesome view onto Mt. Cook. The property provides super service and is completely off-grid and self sustained. Food was awesome. We loved the star gazing - well educated, super comfy and we saw galaxies with our plain eye.

We were here at the end of our long trip, and spent New Year's Eve at Hagley park for the celebrations the bands and the fireworks. The children loved the play park by the river. The city was very clean and tidy and despite being there over new year, most shops and restaurants were open for business

We loved the awesome views of the lake. We enoyed our day at the Hot Springs. We were disappointed that our star gazing tours were cancelled due to poor weather.
Had a great meal at the Chinese restaurant, Jade Palace. Otherwise we mainly ate at our accommodation and cooked for ourselves.

Small dainty town!
Small dainty town! Many people are here primarily for the whale watching. The town has good places to eat and nice beach tracks. We went to the Kairoura Seafood BBQ shack and had their crayfish and cod. Crayfish was great, cod was just okay. Went to coopers catch and had fish and chips! Went whale watching and was lucky enough to watch whales and orcas! Also, there is Kaikoura Peninsula Walkway wherein you can see sea lions basking in the sunlight in their colony.

Since we have been going to Hanmer for the last 30+ years. It's so amazing how many people visit this beautiful location.
Cycling fishing boating walking golfing the activities are endless.
So much for young families to do. Running up & down Conical Hill was one of our favourite morning activities & cost nothing.
So now being in the older generation find even just checking every thing out esp refurbished Queen Mary Hospital. What a pleasure to see it now being rebuilt back to as was or almost to bring back it's history.
Hanmer Springs is really special.

Twizel was an area for farming & sheep grazing until the NZ...
Twizel was an area for farming & sheep grazing until the NZ Govt decided to connect all the Alpine Lochs via a series Canals & Power Plants to create a Massive Hydro Power Scheme in the late 60's.
It took nearly 20 years, but at the completion of the Power Project the Village of Twizel was established & the Power scheme workers & residents wanted the town to remain.
Luckily they won the day & Twizel became part of The MacKenzie County Council set up & is now a Tourist Mecca for Alpine Enthusiasts.
A great place to base yourself whilst visiting Mount Cook/Aoraki & the surrounding Ben Ohau Valley Region.
Twizel still has that quaintness of a small Alpine Village, a quality that seems to have been lost in other nearby Tourist Meccas.

Mount Cook Village is a great location if you are planning to do some walks in the area. We did the Hooker Valley Track, Sealy Tarn Track, and the Tasman Glacier View after which we were exhausted and travelling to another location would have been a bit much. Staying at the village was the best decision. At night you can travel slightly out to get the most exceptional views of stars and in the morning you wake up to unbelievably beautiful views of mountains. If you are lucky you might just get some snow.

Historic town on sheltered harbour. Good museum Art Gallery, cafes and restaurants. Several Wineries and a boutique cheese factory in outer bays. French Farm Wineries a must visit, 20mins from Akaroa. Don’t miss the ‘Giants House’ in Akaroa

Quiet town with all the amenities.
Quiet town with all the amenities. There is a nice cafe/restaurant called Eat which is worth a visit with very tasty and good value meals. Over the road, Mount Hutt takeaways offers tasty and good value fare as well. It serves Chinese takeaways and fish and chips. Of course there's also the Fairlie Bakehouse with its home made pies which are worth sampling.

We were travelling on to another destination so had only planned to stay 1 night. Geraldine is a lovely township. Worth a visit. The Barkers shop is a must. The café is superb. Plenty of other excellent places to eat. Everything pretty much within walking distance.
