(shout out Remy), and another staff member whose name I unfortunately forgot. They kindly helped treat my leg after I accidentally fell into a hole, which I truly appreciated.
The room itself was very nice, clean, and well equipped with plenty of amenities. I was impressed by the high-quality equipment, such as the Smeg water heater and Dyson hair dryer, as well as the LED mirror. The air conditioning was very cold, making the room extremely comfortable.
The location was also great, just outside the main town, so it was peaceful and away from the noise, yet still convenient. Additionally, the hotel did an excellent job arranging my Tour A activities and assisting with bike rental, which made my stay smooth and hassle-free. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

United StatesFrom the moment my husband and I entered the property the staff has been very accommodating to our needs. The room is clean, spacious and has all the amenities we need. Not many hotels in Coron have a mini fridge so that was definitely a plus for us. The location is right on the main road and is walking distance to all the restaurants, cafes, and spas. The view from the room is so beautiful and breathtaking. They have in room massage, laundry service, and room service. My family is already planning on returning next year. Thank Casa Mario's for making our stay delightful!!

I liked how the kitchen staff allowed us to order off menu to let us try local dishes. The dishes felt homemade which was exactly what I was looking for. Nothing fancy, but simple and honesty meals. The location is footsteps away from the beach and surf that allowed for novice surfers to get a lesson/surf the waves with the locals. The owner and staff made us feel so comfortable and welcomed. We arrived as strangers but left feeling like family.

CanadaI would say that this is definitely the best hotel in the Philippines. And this hotel is the most satisfying one in my 14 day journey in El Nido. The location of the hotel is great. 2mins drive from the airport to hotel and 1min walk from hotel to Lio beach, which is where I like to go for sunset run. They have hotel transportation to town as well. The hotel room was soooo AMAZING, high ceiling with remote curtains is my favorite thing that really blew my mind in a third-world country especially in an island like El Nido. The room is equipped with a small kitchen with cooking facilities for perfect for my midnight snacks. A kettle, refrigerator, and capsule coffee machine. There are wine glass, artsy plates and coffee cups. The bathroom has separate toilet and shower, by the way it’s also remote controlled TOILET with heated seats. I like all the details they provide in the room and hotel services. I like being close with nature, the hotel is located in the forest, surrounded with big old trees and palm trees..I was lucky to see a Palawan hornbill just passing by right in front of my big french window. Sometimes, I see monkeys and squirrels jumping around playing, and maybe some people wouldn’t like that. But to me, it brings different cozy feelings. The room is really QUIET and it makes me feel so safe. I’m such a light sleeper. But I was able to adjust my jet lag and have quality sleep on all the nights. I’m so appreciative to all the staff in the hotel, they are so welcoming, their suggestions of the travel tips are so great and they made me really felt like home. Thank you Piece Lio. You make my journey the best and gave unforgettable experience in El Nido. Xoxo

My friend and I spent 4 nights at Lagen. The full experience was great from airport pick up (dedicated counter at airport) to the transfer to the island. The property has a great location; the rooms are well kept, the activities, the food, drinks but most of all the staff absolutely the best. One day we went to the big lagoon, we kayaked out way back to the boat, there were a few other boats, it was windy and there was current, somehow our kayak ended up under the proa of the hotel boat and with the waves we were afraid it would hit us in the head, another boat passed by so close and made more waves which made the situation more difficult, our Lagen guide didn’t hesitate to throw himself to the water to help us! we tried to find him later but this was the day before we checked out. Will anyone in the hotel help us find him? my friend and I are avid travelers, I live in UAE where hospitality has a high standard and to me El Nido Lagen is one of the best hotel I’ve stayed in my whole life! loved everyday of my holiday

The staff were excellent, all very friendly and super helpful even with extending our stay with the typhoon. Breakfast has a good choice and the quality of the food at the beach bar and restaurant are best in town. Would highly recommend, we were super comfortable, highly rated amenities and cleanliness! PROS: Staff very friendly and helpful, natural surrounding areas great (although some of the nature walks showed lack of maintenance). The trees were even labeled! resort grounds and rooms well-maintained and clean. CONS: Resort was far from main town center via 20 min tricycle ride and no grocery store in resort.

The airport and almost all hotels are located on Busuanga (the neighbour island of Coron). There is hardly anything to see here. Neither nice beaches nor varied landscapes. You have to take boat trips to the neighbouring island of Coron or go diving. Both are great. Coron with its lakes, lagoons, caves and beaches is amazing. The underwater world is more varied than in El Nido, Moalboal or Boracay.

The most important things to do here its the underground river located in a cave about 2h drive away from the hotel by van to the National park. Also its nice to travel down the south for Balabac but I personally picked North up to El Nido for more Island Hoppings.

The island hopping tours rival El Nido and Coron and the coral reefs and marine life some of the best we experienced. Plenty of good food options and beach bars.

If you're looking for a beautiful tropical island to visit,...
If you're looking for a beautiful tropical island to visit, put this one on your list. It's relatively uncrowded, the people are very pleasant and the vistas are jaw dropping.
If you are a diver, and have an interest in WWII, you will find an incredible 11 Japanese wrecks to dive. I'd recommend Pirate Divers, they are very professional and very conservative when it comes to evaluating risks. They also know the wrecks like their second home.
Coron is a bustling town with good food and pleasant people, but the beauty of the island is the back country. I liked it enough in December that I'm returning in February.
To get around, I'd suggest renting a scooter. If you are new to powered two wheel vehicles stay out of Coron, and pay attention to the roads, there are some surprisingly tight turns. Otherwise, since it is relatively uncrowded you should be fine.

A delightful quiet backwater and so far less developed town. The beaches were beautiful and mostly clean. The town has plenty of activities to offer and places to eat. The whole place is walkable but you may want a Tuktuk or moped to visit further beaches.

If you intend to visit Palawan you need to be more informed than I was. The Philippines are a poor country. Accommodation is cheap and as such you get what you paid for - No hot water, some cockroaches, you cannot swim in the water because of the jellyfish, plenty of sandflies and no shop to get any relief medication. There is no way to move around unless you organize transfers that cost you as much as your accommodation. A must see if you would like to see the culture. We were unable to snorkel due to weather

Small coastal town with vibrant local shops/bars and great vibes. Good area for island hopping and a lot of beautiful beaches close by. Main street is closed in the evening which makes it even better.

The damage from the previous typoons is still present. There are numerous bars, I recommend the Pacifico Bar, they have Octoberfest sized mugs to hold the Red Horse Beer. It is 50 Pesos each way from the hotel to town and back. On the island tours, the outhouses are the absolute bare minimum, a toilet, no seat, no tank, no TP, a bucket and a ladle and no sink. Wear grippy water shoes, the stairs are slippery. Go see the Coral Garden, elsewhere all the other fish are <5" and no coral. Unless you go to the the Coral Garden, the crystal kayak is a waste of money. Still I had a great time, the staff did an amazing job, life is an adventure!
