It is a great hotel situated perfectly at the heart of El Nido. You have a beautiful seaview, either from your room or the rooftop (the hotel is second line from the beach) and you are 15-30 min away by tuk tuk or scooter from all the amazing beaches El Nido has to offer. The staff was phenomenal -, super nice and helpful and always going above and beyond to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The breakfast was surprising (we are not vegan and we loved it), the rooftop was very welcoming and had a great vibe, and the room was very nice. Overall, great value for money and a great experience! Definitely recommend!

I like the free transfers to and from the airport, and to and from town. I LOVE the cleanliness of the room, the heated toilet seat, the kitchen with complete tools and utensils, and especially the super helpful staff. They are very kind and accommodating, and very prompt with all our needs. The location was GREAT. It's just 3 mins away from the airport and it's like a compound of hotels and restaurants. Finding a place to eat is so easy with so many options. And if you're vegan or vegetarian, you have a lot of choices around the hotel. They serve only vegan and vegetarian breakfast in the hotel, btw. Our room (a loft) is very spacious. Beds are very comfortable. Housekeeping also cleans every day. All in all it was a great stay for our family.

We had a great experience at Amari Hotel! The place is beautiful, clean, and comfortable. Even though there is some construction happening at the moment, it didn’t bother us at all — the atmosphere is still peaceful and relaxing. The staff are very friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with anything we needed. The location is great, close to the beach and perfect for exploring El Nido. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back again once everything is fully finished! Highly recommended! 🌴✨

Bibi (the housekeeper) and the owners were so incredibly friendly, they made me feel at home. The breakfast was incredible, the best meal I've had yet in the Philippines. Rooms were very well designed - loved the number of plug sockets, especially the ones by the bed! Really phenomenal food at incredibly reasonable prices. Location - close to Lio beach (a must visit location) and close to the Town too for boat trips, karaoke and souvenir shopping. People working there were very attentive. Room kept clean and reasonably priced bar on site too. Even liked the pool.

This place gives you an awesome experience, the location could not be any better, you are just next to the top attractions of el nido, but at the same time, you are on a very private place. The hotel includes complementary tours that cover most of what you would do on El Nido, and they are very easy to be arranged and mixed with the other plans you might have. The hotel is very well maintained, clean, the stuff is very friendly. The buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner is very good, you get different type of foods every day, if you like seafood there will always be a lot of it fresh seafood too. The drinks are very good, and reasonable price. The snorkeling is a great experience, the snorkel kit they provide is good and you can spend many hours swimming around the hotel and finding great and unique fishes. It was a bit hard to plan my arrival, I suggest you contact the hotel at least 2-3 days before you arrive so they can pick you up, for the check out I was allowed to stay a bit more around the hotel and have lunch before going to the airport, unfortunately we had some problems with our flight but the hotel called me to help me and they were very helpful on that. Overall, a great experience for our honeymoon.

* The resort is very beautiful and well maintained. * The rooms are large, clean and beautiful. * The staff is extremely kind and attentive. * There are 3 clean and supervised swimming pools, as well as security everywhere - we felt safe. * We had free access to the waterpark on 3 days, ideal for families with children also. * The breakfast buffet (included) and dinner buffet (18€/person) were varied and tasty (Sunday was our favorite: BBQ night) * Unlimited fresh water in the room daily. * Possibility to play golf for free, gym and discounts on massage (very nice and recommended). * Two free excursions, to a sandbar near the hotel and to a beach approx. 1h30 * Some evenings we received from the hotel free desserts in the room, a very sweet surprise Special thanks to the managers, Ms. Annissa, Ms. Fritzie and Mr. Alberto who were very responsive to our requests and found solutions to all our wishes, to Carlo, wonderful service and even better company, he made us feel cared for in our days by the pool and to Juanito - Security - who does an amazing job, always with fresh energy, no matter if it’s day or night. Best wishes, Room 309

My friend and I spent 4 nights at Lagen. The full experience was great from airport pick up (dedicated counter at airport) to the transfer to the island. The property has a great location; the rooms are well kept, the activities, the food, drinks but most of all the staff absolutely the best. One day we went to the big lagoon, we kayaked out way back to the boat, there were a few other boats, it was windy and there was current, somehow our kayak ended up under the proa of the hotel boat and with the waves we were afraid it would hit us in the head, another boat passed by so close and made more waves which made the situation more difficult, our Lagen guide didn’t hesitate to throw himself to the water to help us! we tried to find him later but this was the day before we checked out. Will anyone in the hotel help us find him? my friend and I are avid travelers, I live in UAE where hospitality has a high standard and to me El Nido Lagen is one of the best hotel I’ve stayed in my whole life! loved everyday of my holiday

Honestly, this place is just on another level. The whole resort is beautiful — from the white sand beach, the relaxing villas, the view of the mountains, and all that nature around you. Everywhere you look, it just feels peaceful and private. The staff was accommodating and easy to approach. And I have to mention the food — everything we tried was delicious. It really exceeded our expectations. Honestly, every corner of this resort is picture-perfect. Now I understand why everyone calls this a 5-star experience. Would 100% love to come back again!

The view and location was spectacular. You’ll get the sunrise and sunset view. Plus, if you’re fortunate you can spot a black tip shark (non-aggressive) in some parts of the beach as you snorkel. Aside from these, the staff were exceptional. They were warm and helpful. Special mention to our lovely tour guides, Anton and Andrew, who took special care to our toddler so we were able to snorkel during the trips. Overall, it was a lovely experience and you will definitely go back here.

Town is good if you like going out to eat, and see a lot of things But staying in lio, nacpan or duli is also nice if you want a more peaceful, quiet time. even sibaltan would be nice (check out the manta rays if you dive)

The wow factor was definitely at Twin Lagoons and Kayangan Lake. Loved swimming and snorkelling although coming from Australia, the corals and fish were a bit underwhelming. Plenty of cafes and restaurants in Coron Town. We especially liked the french restaurant Armihan Bistro, Poco Deli (next door to Epic Cafe) and Le Voyage. All catered for Gluten Free meals as well. Tuk Tuks are plentiful and easy to catch. 50 pesos for 2 peoples to take you anywhere within the town boundaries. We also walked to the hilltop lookout Mt Tapayas .. but beware, there's 720 steps to climb to get to the top from the car park!!!

Absolutely!

Absolutely! San Vicente really flies under the radar compared to El Nido and Coron, but that’s part of its charm. It’s less crowded, more laid-back, and still boasts those stunning, unspoiled beaches—especially the 14-kilometer Long Beach, which feels like a hidden gem. The slower pace and warm, genuine hospitality from the locals really give it that authentic "island life" vibe. It’s perfect for people looking to relax, connect with nature, and avoid the more tourist-heavy scenes. Some even say it’s what El Nido felt like 10 or 15 years ago.

Every day I walked from the hotel to Sabang wharf on the beach and on one day had coffee, adobo and itlog in a small cafe there. Everyone was very friendly, and I bought some Pasalubong, when they did not have my tee shirt size, they went to another shop to get it for me and to get change when I gave them 1000 peso note. I asked directions to the falls, but no one was exactly sure where it was or how long it would take to get there. The place was secure (police station at the wharf and coastguard and army regularly on patrol in the area. I eventually found the park that a friend recommended (5 km from the hotel) and had an excellent buffet lunch there twice and again they made Chester very welcome, the park was free and had some interesting, recycled artworks and a tribute to the devastation in the area by Typhoon Odette- well worth a visit. Also visit Buenavista viewpoint- the local community run it and you can get Buko juice, coffee, snacks and Pasalubong plus take great photos of the bay

If you're looking for a beautiful tropical island to visit,...

If you're looking for a beautiful tropical island to visit, put this one on your list. It's relatively uncrowded, the people are very pleasant and the vistas are jaw dropping. If you are a diver, and have an interest in WWII, you will find an incredible 11 Japanese wrecks to dive. I'd recommend Pirate Divers, they are very professional and very conservative when it comes to evaluating risks. They also know the wrecks like their second home. Coron is a bustling town with good food and pleasant people, but the beauty of the island is the back country. I liked it enough in December that I'm returning in February. To get around, I'd suggest renting a scooter. If you are new to powered two wheel vehicles stay out of Coron, and pay attention to the roads, there are some surprisingly tight turns. Otherwise, since it is relatively uncrowded you should be fine.

A delightful quiet backwater and so far less developed town. The beaches were beautiful and mostly clean. The town has plenty of activities to offer and places to eat. The whole place is walkable but you may want a Tuktuk or moped to visit further beaches.

If you intend to visit Palawan you need to be more informed than I was. The Philippines are a poor country. Accommodation is cheap and as such you get what you paid for - No hot water, some cockroaches, you cannot swim in the water because of the jellyfish, plenty of sandflies and no shop to get any relief medication. There is no way to move around unless you organize transfers that cost you as much as your accommodation. A must see if you would like to see the culture. We were unable to snorkel due to weather

El Nido has so many fun things to do, and we liked that while there were a plentitude of tourist options, we were not separated from local culture and activities that sometimes happens in other places. We were only there for four days, and we could have stayed another week. The beaches are beyond stunning, both the ones you can walk to and the ones that need a boat. The snorkeling was fantastic, the food options endless, and the vibe was chill and fun.

The calamian group of islands of which Coron is part of, is beautiful. And I hope all the measures to keep it pristine and unlittered will be successful always. There are many breathtaking sights. You would need a sizable budget though to be able to enjoy the boat tours which are wonderful. If you have the time, visit Culion. It is historical (a UNESCO site), and while the places to see could do a little tidying up, nevertheless, the history of that place invites reflection and inspires--many heroic people lived on that island. Kudos to the religious who have kept the place going since it was first established. The Culion museum should be your first stop.
