I love this place! A dignified, apparently purpose-built boarding house (for tourists, I am guessing, as the street is called “Turysty”).
A neighbour on my floor was smoking in their room after my host had left though, so I cancelled my next booking which would have meant I would have been here for six days altogether.
The very nice owner let me off the cancellation charge due to the circumstances. He has clear “No Smoking” signs around the place and on the welcome sheet in the room.

OMG an amazing location in Bialowieze Forest close to the Belarusian border. Stayed in one of the railway carriages, such a novel and incredible experience. Carriage was comfy, roomy and very very special. Restaurant in the adjacent old stations building was perfect. Worth the long drive to get there.

Was there for work, so only saw the central part and sights.
Was there for work, so only saw the central part and sights. As it was winter, sunlight was literally non-existent. The city offers wide walkways and is very pedestrian-friendly. There are a lot of parks, even a small forest, well within walking distance from the centre. Everything looked very well organized and the city is very clean and calm, with friendly people.

Lomza is a beautiful city!
Lomza is a beautiful city! A small gem that is likely underrated. I went with my family to find our roots and was so surprised by the beauty of the area! We were lucky to receive fantastic help at tourist information in town square and they had an array of books in several languages for free. St. Michael’s church and the museum across the street are a must see. The museum especially were so generous in giving us a guide because my mom has mobility issues. They have a wonderful collection of lamps and artifacts from the area. The woman at tourist information also connected us with a local historian who is going to help us find our ancestors. Best pizza was at Pepe Rosso! Thank you Lomza we loved you and will be back!

Slightly underdeveloped, with little information available hence one has to explore and discover. Perfect for watersports, with plenty of options available (but you have to explore yourself ...). If you enjoy wilderness and forests, this is the place for you. I advise getting a guide (compulsory in some areas) to learn about the forest ecosystem and its most famous residents, the bison.
Getting around town is very easy - it's not big! We went in November, so definitely not the high tourist season, and the weather cooperated. The town was almost empty, the forest smelled of autumn and was changing colors.
If you're after night-life and clubs, this is not the place for you. If you crave Nature, this is definitely a good choice.

Hajnówka is a peaceful town right next to the Białowieża Forest, one of Europe’s last primeval woodlands. It’s a great spot for nature lovers, with easy access to forest trails and chances to spot bison. The town also has a unique mix of cultures, best seen in its striking Orthodox church and local Belarusian influences. Perfect for a quiet getaway close to nature and for testing Podlasie cuisine. Local specialties include babka ziemniaczana, placki ziemniaczane or pierogi and for desser, marcinek is a must!

Białystok is a special place for us because of our family...
Białystok is a special place for us because of our family there. However, it is an excellent place in Poland to visit for a relaxing time away from the hustle and bustle of better known tourist cities. It is a safe, walkable town with attractive venues such as the Branicki Palace and gardens. You can enjoy Polish puppet theater, live dramatic theater, and music in both outdoor and indoor settings such as the Podlaskie Opera. If you enjoy museums, you won't be disappointed. There are several museums in which you can learn of the history of the region, remember the deportations and sacrifices made under Soviet Union control, or learn about Ludwik Zamenhof and his development of the Esperanto international language. For us, the most pleasant times have been walking through the beautiful parks and relaxing. Enjoy your visit!

We didn't go beyond the accomodation complex but that had several activities available anyway. You could purchase a fire pit evening, go fishing, go swimming in the lake and I'm sure there would be more available if you wanted. The restaurant food was decent.

The interior of the hotel is really beautiful.
Room and all the public spaces were very clean.
Room was spacious and well equipped with a kettle and coffee maker etc.
Pool area was nice and cozy.
Staff was very friendly. Only one of the restaurant staff didn't speak English but we managed never the less.
Breakfast buffet had a great selection and was tasty.
