Additionally, the location was perfect! 50 mins from the airport, 5 minutes from the beach, 10 minutes to the strip where all the bars and restaurants were. I would definitely recommend staying here!

Everything was EXCELLENT! The whole resort is in a gorgeous location of a petit fishing village. There's a charming promenade by the water, lots of restaurants nearby. At the resort you have a free access to the indoor & outdoor pool, jacuzzi and 2 diferentes saunas and there's a lot of activities in the high season, would recommend for families with kids. Room was spacious and well equipped, very comfy bed. Very nice and helpful people at the reception. Can't wait to come back!

Amazing staff. I was very sick and they accommodated me. When I got to the condo I vomited and the two housekeeping ladies went above and beyond to comfort me. I wish I knew their names. They rubbed my back watered me down and kept me calm and relaxed me. I’m forever grateful. I was in unit 325 I thought maybe her name was Ada. They were both African Portuguese. ♥️♥️♥️♥️

It was way more expensive that we anticipated especially for Portugal. I guess they live on tourists from Germany or France that visit once, and have bigger salaries than average Spanish person. Personally I didn't like it much. It is messy and dirty, not taken care of. There are some cool bars and food and wine is super good, but again...expensive, and really not much to do there. One day and you can see the whole city. We used the good weather to go near Portimao to see the caves, but lunches are till 2:30! Dinners are till 9/9:30, so plan ahead, and if you want to see the caves by boat, go earlier and check the tides. There are way nicer places around.

The old town was lovely and the beaches great but overall I was disappointed in Albufeira. I thought there would have been more to do but there wasn't. It felt more like a beach holiday than a city break. We travelled in November so it might have been to do with being out of season. A lot of venues, trips etc were closed or not on offer at this time of year. The marina was a 30 minute walk and that was where you picked up the tours for the dolphin and cave trip. Some tours offer a pick up from your hotel but we were in an apartment so this didn't apply to us. The bus station is also a 25 minute walk uphill from the old town. Albufeira was also very expensive to eat and drink but the quality of the food was very good. I'm glad I saw it but I don't think I would return.

There were so many restaurants in Lagos accessible by foot, and nice little shops. Try Casinha do Petisco (but book before) if you love seafood, churrasqueira Praca d'armas for local and casual peri-peri chicken, and Taninos for a slightly fancier meal.
We mainly drove out of Lagos to go hiking along the South/Southwest coasts. We went in November so it was low season but we still have sunny weather and temperatures of 15-18 degrees, so perfect for if you're active.
I would recommend kayaking or hiking. Visit the Ponte de Piedade. We did the seven hanging valleys hike and also kayaked to the Benagil cave, we went to Sao Vicente and Algar Seco.

Tavira is an interesting town and we enjoyed a Fado performance in one of the beautiful churches. It has a wide choice of good eateries and trips are available to local attractions like the island.
However, we were glad we took the option of taking the train to Faro for one day and to the crossingbto Spain on a small ferry on another day.
Tavira is close to Spain.The ferry port in Portugal is an attractive town as is its couterpart onthe Spanish side.

Been coming here for years on 4 day golf tours. For that purpose Vilamoura has everything - good hotels, lively bars and even in late November plenty of restaurants to choose from and of course many golf courses within easy reach.

The ruins of the ancient castle overlooking the town...
The ruins of the ancient castle overlooking the town enhances the dreamlike feeling of this very old town. Just wandering the streets is enough, but then there is terrific hiking. Ideal for those who like heritage and outdoor adventure in the "real" Portugal outside of the large City. And then there are the people, who could not do enough to help.

Easy to get around, lovely beach, lots of beautiful places to eat. We stayed for 4 days and it was a perfect amount of time as we didn't plan any day trips. Bolt taxi - an excellent service and we would highly recommend the Wyndham Hotel.

We love Quarteira, 20/25mins from Faro airport, beautiful...
We love Quarteira, 20/25mins from Faro airport, beautiful beach clean & well maintained with ample beds with fixed rattan umbrellas for hire, long promenade lined on other side with lots of choices of restaurants /bars. Bus station is great with lots of local buses to wherever you would like to visit. You can walk to Villamoura Marina within 20/30mins walk but be prepared to pay double the prices for food & drink as Quarteira is very reasonably priced. Great friendly atmosphere & we have never experienced any rowdiness at all on our visits

Olhao is a welcoming laid back town this time a year.
Olhao is a welcoming laid back town this time a year. Its very well kept with interesting Cubist architecture. There are many great restaurants and coffee places in all price ranges. It feels genuinely Portugese. Surrounding islands are lovely and transport is easy and very affordable. The markets are also great to visit. The salinas are beautiful with lovely diverse flora and fauna.
