Saudi ArabiaI really enjoyed my stay at Lusitano Garden Villas. The place is calm, clean, and very comfortable, and the location is perfect only 5 minutes from the airport, Romeu was super helpful and friendly, always giving me great tips about visiting places.
I also loved the horse riding experience, which was unforgettable, The owner João is very kind, always around, and clearly cares a lot about the place.

Extremely welcoming, service-minded staff (owners managing there own place); nice room with own balcony and sea and mountain view; decent room size; fabulous breakfast; quality answers to every question, advice from the tourist's perspective, sometimes driven by the business interests of the other services the place offers, but never inappropriate or even intruding; located right in the middle of where the action in more and more buzzling Lajes is.

I really liked the quiet serene environment. The room was beautiful and clean and did not have carpets which can be a trigger for allergies for me. But most of all the staff were very helpful and welcoming. The steak dinner Philp prepared for me was the beast I have had in a really long time. All the meals I had were very tasteful and worth coming back for.

Everything was perfect during our stay. The staff are particularly friendly especially to our little pup Bruno. He had so much fun running around the hotel and the lobby saying hi to everybody. The hotel is definitely the best in the entire island.

Just to see Ponta Delgada, 2-3 days is enough. It is within an hour to most places on the island. Christmastime is a great time to be there. Not too hot, not too cold and less busy than in the high season.

Beautiful. There are many fascinating old buildings, cozy cafes, great beaches, and steep hills to climb. Great nature reserve at Monte Brasil. The people are very friendly. Quite a few facilities in this small little town. Very relaxing.

The boulevard along the harbour offers beautiful views towards Pico island. The town is rather small but offers all the basics. The people are are friendly. It's not so suitable for shopping and to really appreciate it you should walk around a lot and also explore the nature around the town. Public transport is available though rather limited.

Being close to the airport, you can even walk there. It's right next to the beach, with access to water sports, bars, restaurants, and supermarkets. Plus, you can easily get around using public transport. The receptionist who helped me with the booking process was very helpful and professional. I highly recommend this accommodation.

Spectacular park and hot springs. The foliage in the park is magnificent rivalling some of the most iconic parks in the world. Quiet, close to quiet seaside town with whale watching, fishing and good food.

It is a beautiful and historic building with so much character. It has calm and peaceful seating areas throughout where you can sit in comfort. They have the best breakfast and we relied on the banana for a snack as we were out and about during the day. This location is perfect for exploring the island as it is centrally located. We will definitely be back

I enjoyed Riberia Grande. It is a great place to situate yourself if you are planning to visit different areas of the island.
The public swimming pools and ocean access was fantastic. I enjoyed going to the courtyard area in my area nightly to eat and enjoy a glass of wine. Took a little getting used to the serving staff here as they did not seem interested in their customers. Upon searching Google, I found out this may be because they are paid a decent living wage and therefore not reliant on tips. This makes it even more confusing as to why they would not be receptive to their customers.

Casas do termo are about 2 km from Lagoa, and we didn't explore this small town well enough. The big Continente supermarket was easy to find (on the road from the motorway). The roads on São Miguel are on the whole very good and the traffic is light. There is a lot of agricultural traffic, however. Using this location as a base, we could easily explore the whole island by car and there are many things worth experiencing (views, villages, Ponta Delgada itself). It's an amazingly lush, green island. We would recommend it!

this hotel was far from the airport or anything else for that matter, if you had to walk so a car is a necessity, and although the hotel had amenities like restaurant (only open for breakfast with the same breakfast every day) and vending machines (which if you could find a working one was empty( best piece of advise is find a grocery store, the island living is the best but it does take some getting used to if your from North America.

I went there to scuba dive and Madelena is a perfect location between two excellent Dive Shops: CWAzores and Twin Peaks. I recommend O Cinco for food. Madalena is a perfect location to stage a vacation to have access to all the other towns, museums and activities.
