SwitzerlandWe booked a weeks stay and oved the villa and the location. João ( the resort owner) and the Reception team were very friendly and attentive and ensured our stay went well. The villa had high quality fittings throughout with some of the most comfortable hotel beds I've slept in. For horse lovers and riding enthusiasts, you can book personal riding classes on the resorts prized Lusitano horses. Our daughter loved her classes! Theres a llovely outdoor pool and jacuzzi too.A fabulous experience and we cant wait to come back when we are next in the Azores. :) Thank you.

PolandI had an absolutely fantastic stay at this hotel! From the moment I arrived, the hospitality of the host was outstanding. They provided all the necessary information about the area and were always available to help, making me feel truly taken care of throughout my stay. The location is unbeatable—just a short walk from the harbor, beach, and main square, with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. The hotel itself is very new and impeccably clean, with full amenities including an elevator. I particularly enjoyed the common library, perfect for some quiet reading or work, and the charming small garden. Everything in the hotel was in perfect working order.

Chaotic at times, vibrant and good fun.
Chaotic at times, vibrant and good fun. Cruise ships swell tourist numbers for a short while and play havoc with getting a lunch table. Walking is enjoyable, never feeling unsafe - even late at night. Do visit all the tourist spots, they are actually worth going to see! and enjoy the worlds best pineapple.

Beautiful.
Beautiful. There are many fascinating old buildings, cozy cafes, great beaches, and steep hills to climb. Great nature reserve at Monte Brasil. The people are very friendly. Quite a few facilities in this small little town. Very relaxing.

The boulevard along the harbour offers beautiful views towards Pico island. The town is rather small but offers all the basics. The people are are friendly. It's not so suitable for shopping and to really appreciate it you should walk around a lot and also explore the nature around the town. Public transport is available though rather limited.

Being close to the airport, you can even walk there. It's right next to the beach, with access to water sports, bars, restaurants, and supermarkets. Plus, you can easily get around using public transport. The receptionist who helped me with the booking process was very helpful and professional. I highly recommend this accommodation.

Spectacular park and hot springs.
Spectacular park and hot springs. The foliage in the park is magnificent rivalling some of the most iconic parks in the world. Quiet, close to quiet seaside town with whale watching, fishing and good food.

I enjoyed Riberia Grande.
I enjoyed Riberia Grande. It is a great place to situate yourself if you are planning to visit different areas of the island.
The public swimming pools and ocean access was fantastic. I enjoyed going to the courtyard area in my area nightly to eat and enjoy a glass of wine. Took a little getting used to the serving staff here as they did not seem interested in their customers. Upon searching Google, I found out this may be because they are paid a decent living wage and therefore not reliant on tips. This makes it even more confusing as to why they would not be receptive to their customers.

It is a beautiful and historic building with so much...
It is a beautiful and historic building with so much character. It has calm and peaceful seating areas throughout where you can sit in comfort. They have the best breakfast and we relied on the banana for a snack as we were out and about during the day. This location is perfect for exploring the island as it is centrally located. We will definitely be back

this hotel was far from the airport or anything else for that matter, if you had to walk so a car is a necessity, and although the hotel had amenities like restaurant (only open for breakfast with the same breakfast every day) and vending machines (which if you could find a working one was empty( best piece of advise is find a grocery store, the island living is the best but it does take some getting used to if your from North America.

Casas do termo are about 2 km from Lagoa, and we didn't explore this small town well enough. The big Continente supermarket was easy to find (on the road from the motorway). The roads on São Miguel are on the whole very good and the traffic is light. There is a lot of agricultural traffic, however. Using this location as a base, we could easily explore the whole island by car and there are many things worth experiencing (views, villages, Ponta Delgada itself). It's an amazingly lush, green island. We would recommend it!

I went there to scuba dive and Madelena is a perfect location between two excellent Dive Shops: CWAzores and Twin Peaks. I recommend O Cinco for food. Madalena is a perfect location to stage a vacation to have access to all the other towns, museums and activities.
