While having a beer on the patio area, I was busy sowing a torn bag I use to carry small items (GPS, Go-pro camera, cell phone holder, cell phone, charging cable,etc) when Marco brought tje beers. Soon after, he arrived with a replacement bag and gave it to me. So thoughtful and I call this generosity of spirit. Restaurant had great food and all the staff were so friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

Two days in a perfect place: the hotel, its magnificent location , hiking on the beautiful hills of Douro river valley, vineyard and excellent wines, autumn colours and sunshine - it could not have been better. Service was great by the friendly staff, you could feel that they are there just for you. Excellent breakfast and dinner, too. Thank you so much, you made best of our holiday !

Very nice accommodation and facilities in an absolutely beautiful setting. The restaurant was extremely high value for money and we enjoyed a memorable dinner in family. The place is more suited for adults, however it is completely prepared to go with kids, too. The staff is very friendly and amiable.

We had a wonderful stay. The views you have from the Douro river are stunning. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable. Breakfast was good and the dinner options they offered were also excellent. Finally, and most important, the wines produced there are really good.

Everything. Nice and cosy. Staff were friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. A few toiletries provided. Fridge in the room with drinks available. Breakfast was amazing. We celebrated Valentines at the hotel and the decoration and little details made a difference. So cute!

Stunning hotel, in a beautiful location. Room was bigger than we imagined, with a view overlooking the lake. Staff were really friendly. We took our own bikes and used the facilities on the lake. Great location for families 🙂

If Viseu was near the ocean I would've moved there...
If Viseu was near the ocean I would've moved there inmediately. Lovely streets to wander around, parks and local shops and restaurants. Lovely architecture to admire and just love the ambience. The N2 national road passes through here and it's close to a great metal festival.

Seia is a nice little city with plenty of cultural sites, restaurants, and shops. In general people are very nice and welcome visitors. Nature surrounding the city are beautiful and there are many short and long hiking trails around.

Not too much to do in the fall. Quiet city. Pretty city from far views in the mountain, very few places where you can try cheese selections with good wine. The wool factories are a key attraction like Burel. Finding great servings of the Serra da Estrela cheese should be easier.

Guarda is a beautiful city.
Guarda is a beautiful city. In 1 day I walked to all the major sites and enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Another day would have been ideal. Part of Guarda is exposed to the wind so if you go November December time be prepared with warm clothing.

Nice and modern hotel with a relaxing atmosphere. Nice restaurant with a view on the hill. We also enjoyed the indoor heated pool.
The hotel is located in an area of cheap apartment buildings and the surroundings are not enjoyable. Seen from the outside, the hotel is also ugly, except from the outside swimming pool area.

Breathtaking views. The area is stunning and so peaceful. We drove into some of the small villages and the locals were so friendly. We prefer to eat away from the tourist areas and we were not disappointed in this area. The food was fresh and tasty and very reasonable.

Perfect Breakfast with fresh bread in a cloth bag on the door and fresh milk in a glass bottle in the fridge. Fresh figs and a bottle of good wine for the evening. Really good beds with high quality bedding. Very beautiful wooden floor and windows in a very beautiful blue. Very quiet residential area. Very nice an functional bathroom. Very attractive furniture. Viseu is a gorgeous little city with rich historical tales, medieval buildings, cute cafes, and lush gardens. I really loved this city and became impressed with how clean and safe it felt, as a young woman. I really want to visit this city again. Can’t say that for most of the cities in Portugal but Viseu was just so charming.
