The staff were absolutely wonderful, from reception to housekeeping to everyone in between, this hotel clearly prides itself on exceptional service and it shows. Additionally, while I would never describe it as a family resort, there were several small thoughtful details (like a tasteful play area adjacent to the main restaurant, a kids menu, child-s-zed bathrobes, etc) that made children feel very welcome and cared for. Truly, honestly, one of the best places I've ever stayed. Highly recommend, both as a romantic destination and for a family holiday.

The pictures do not do it justice. This property and the surrounding area was JAW DROPPING! I saw one of the best sunsets of my life right from my room. The sun dipped behind the mountains bathing the surrounding valley and vineyards in mango orange, it was absolutely beautiful. The quinta itself was so lovely with lots of walkways to take in the fresh air and the surrounding landscape. There was a little waterfall, a lake, and some swings around the property. This is a place you go to relax and refresh your mind. The size of the room was really nice and breakfast had plenty of options. The restaurant is also really good! I had a wonderful steak with some of the wine from the quinta. And I loved the wine so much I bought bottles for loved ones. Everything was really chic and beautiful. I would definitely come back!

Very nice accommodation with many different areas indoor and outdoor to enjoy the facilities. The quality of the food both for breakfast and dinner is just great!
They also provided quite a lot of info regarding activities and even booked a buggy trip for us. Really cool!

Incredible detail in beautiful interior and buildings - all in lovely harmony with nature; natural materials at their best, lush vegetation, comfort and calming surroundings. 6km from nearest town so really away from busy living.

Nice and modern hotel with a relaxing atmosphere. Nice restaurant with a view on the hill. We also enjoyed the indoor heated pool.
The hotel is located in an area of cheap apartment buildings and the surroundings are not enjoyable. Seen from the outside, the hotel is also ugly, except from the outside swimming pool area.

Vila Real is a nice town with all factilities available, some nice and affordabled places to eat or have a drink.
It is within 30 minutes of driving from the Douro valley. A great ride will bring you in the wineries over there.
Be prepared that wine tasting in the Douro valley is overpriced.

Great jumping off point for Douro River and wineries. Pleasant train ride to get there from Porto. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance around the town and boat trips from the pier. Short train ride to next town and winery tours.

The hotel is situated in a quiet spot which suited us perfectly as we wanted to chill. There’s nothing much to do in the area. If you’re looking for boat trips, wine tours etc it might be better to stay further up river in Pinhao or Porto.

Next time we visit this area, we will get the train from Porto and then do a car hire in the location. Both to enjoy the train journey and also to avoid adjusting to the very narrow roads after a long journey to the area.

Breathtaking views. The area is stunning and so peaceful. We drove into some of the small villages and the locals were so friendly. We prefer to eat away from the tourist areas and we were not disappointed in this area. The food was fresh and tasty and very reasonable.

Beautiful place by the Douro river.
Beautiful place by the Douro river. But it is a bit far from other attractions and villages. Also no supermarket or restaurants nearby. You have to take the train or car to get there. But if you want a special experience in the beautiful Douro valley, this is the place.

The little village is very small - very few stores and restaurants. A few wineries there for tastings. Need a car to be able to drive to the wineries at the top of the surrounding hills and even 30 minutes away. Taxis are very expensive. Driving can be harrowing on the steep hills and extremely narrow roads. It's a good place to go to launch yourself to wine tastings in the region. It's not a place to bring children. We enjoyed dinner family style at our Casa. We LOVED going to Wine and Soul - where they still stomp their grapes. Outstanding ports and wines.

Our stay was wonderful, combining a peaceful atmosphere with a warm, family-friendly setting. The decor perfectly reflects the location, adding a special touch to the experience. Breakfast was excellent, with attentive service from D. Ana, who went out of her way to accommodate dietary needs during my pregnancy. The hotel offers an open space for guests to explore freely, creating a welcoming, respectful environment. The nearby river crossing is tranquil, perfect for relaxing moments. Highly recommended!

This is a great place to spend the best time in the Douro Valley and enjoy the surroundings with the best views, terrace vineyards and wineries. The outdoor pool attracts you even more, especially if you have a teenager who wants to spend time around the pool / beach.
