NetherlandsDelfim Douro Hotel was in one word Fantastic, even with a minor incident, what the staff directly and very professional corrected. The moment you walk in, the staff is there. With all the friendly help and the pre-checking was quickly. Everything was in my eyes perfect. We loved also that the hotel helped employees with a handicap, to see the Hotel is not afraid to have employee in a in the wheelchair, who solved our little problem with all the professionalism you can get.
The restaurant was great, good food for a decent price, good variety wine and loved the desert, Florest chocolate, you have to try it. :-)

United StatesI recently had my wedding ceremony at this hotel and it is THE BEST. Such a wonderful, gorgeous location on the Douro river. Nice outdoor bar/restaurant and pool lounge area. Easy to grab a boat ride or arrange visits to quintas in the area. Staff work around the clock to make the place comfortable and accomodating. The food is great. Can't recommend it enough!

This was one of the nicest places we stayed during our trip to Portugal. The room was clean and comfortable. We had a river view room which provided a spectacular view of the Duro. Enjoyed sitting out on the balcony The staff was very friendly and helpful Patricia and Rafela made great suggestions for touring Quintas and even made reservations for us at these places. Paulo gave great recommendations for dinner and was very helpful Parking was on the property and free. The breakfast had many choices and tables provided a view of the river We would definitely stay here again

The staff surprised us with cake and a bottle of wine on our arrival (it was my husband's bday). Beautiful hotel, spectacular views, great food, friendly staff, a chef's garden, vineyard and relaxing pools and spa. We enjoyed our time relaxing. What a wonderful treat after walking the camino portugese. The sommelier, Ferminio, was so friendly and kind. We will recommend to friends and family.

First and foremost, your beautiful establishment and grounds and the incredible views! In addition, the staff was very accommodating and friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious - from the charcuterie board when we arrived to our dinner in the dining room as well as the incredible breakfast buffet! This was our third time staying in your hotel and, hopefully, not the last!!

Very nice accommodation with many different areas indoor and outdoor to enjoy the facilities. The quality of the food both for breakfast and dinner is just great!
They also provided quite a lot of info regarding activities and even booked a buggy trip for us. Really cool!

The Vintage House was in a great location on the river and walking distance to several wineries and restaurants in Pinhão. Parking at the hotel was easy and our room was very comfortable with a fantastic terrace. Breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed sitting on the terrace admiring the view of the vineyards and the river while eating.

Amazing view, really special place indeed, really nice pools for both kids & adults, water is warm. We also liked fresh food (good options for kids as well). The staff friendly (even though not all are willing to speak english). The room was perfect with additional sofa for 2 kids. Also we liked parking place very much.

Everything was perfect. The view was breathtaking and the manager Ines, went out of her way to make us feel very welcome. She even made fresh scones every day for us. Their wines were the best. We also enjoyed the beautiful view from the jacuzzi.

Nice and modern hotel with a relaxing atmosphere. Nice restaurant with a view on the hill. We also enjoyed the indoor heated pool.
The hotel is located in an area of cheap apartment buildings and the surroundings are not enjoyable. Seen from the outside, the hotel is also ugly, except from the outside swimming pool area.

Vila Real is a nice town with all factilities available, some nice and affordabled places to eat or have a drink.
It is within 30 minutes of driving from the Douro valley. A great ride will bring you in the wineries over there.
Be prepared that wine tasting in the Douro valley is overpriced.

Great jumping off point for Douro River and wineries. Pleasant train ride to get there from Porto. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance around the town and boat trips from the pier. Short train ride to next town and winery tours.

The hotel is situated in a quiet spot which suited us perfectly as we wanted to chill. There’s nothing much to do in the area. If you’re looking for boat trips, wine tours etc it might be better to stay further up river in Pinhao or Porto.

Breathtaking views. The area is stunning and so peaceful. We drove into some of the small villages and the locals were so friendly. We prefer to eat away from the tourist areas and we were not disappointed in this area. The food was fresh and tasty and very reasonable.

Next time we visit this area, we will get the train from Porto and then do a car hire in the location. Both to enjoy the train journey and also to avoid adjusting to the very narrow roads after a long journey to the area.

The little village is very small - very few stores and restaurants. A few wineries there for tastings. Need a car to be able to drive to the wineries at the top of the surrounding hills and even 30 minutes away. Taxis are very expensive. Driving can be harrowing on the steep hills and extremely narrow roads. It's a good place to go to launch yourself to wine tastings in the region. It's not a place to bring children. We enjoyed dinner family style at our Casa. We LOVED going to Wine and Soul - where they still stomp their grapes. Outstanding ports and wines.

Beautiful place by the Douro river. But it is a bit far from other attractions and villages. Also no supermarket or restaurants nearby. You have to take the train or car to get there. But if you want a special experience in the beautiful Douro valley, this is the place.

Our stay was wonderful, combining a peaceful atmosphere with a warm, family-friendly setting. The decor perfectly reflects the location, adding a special touch to the experience. Breakfast was excellent, with attentive service from D. Ana, who went out of her way to accommodate dietary needs during my pregnancy. This is a great place to spend the best time in the Douro Valley and enjoy the surroundings with the best views, terrace vineyards and wineries. The outdoor pool attracts you even more, especially if you have a teenager who wants to spend time around the pool / beach.
