Absolutely best hotel i‘ve been on my southeastasia trip. The owner is the kindest person ever and he even drove me everywhere i had to get. Really good hotel room, clean, modern you can even watch free netflix and prime if you want. They also offer a laundry service and you can grab a free bicycle and just drive around.

Kanchanaburi is a good place to visit, many tourist spots to visit. Maple Gardens is beautiful, full of flowers and sweet Logan fruits was served free. Erawan waterfall is best place to visit although we need to walk and hike. Srinakarin dam also good to visit.

Sai Yok is great for people wanting to visit beautiful natural wonders and the terrible death railway of WW11. However, information is often incorrect and wrong most locals have no English. I researched extensively and even that was not enough most websites offer information that is ab solutely wrong and only their own experience NOT FACTS, enjoy.

Mon Bridge and the village has plenty to explore in terms of local culture (food, costumes, languages, religions and so on). Mon traditional noodle soup made with rice noodles, fish, banana stem and pea snack (Mon Motehinga) is super authentic, yummy and so reasonable.

Great concept of these floating hotel on the river situated on Kwai River in Kanchanaburi, Thailand. This resort overlooks the beautiful breath taking mountain view across your room. And just down the road; a definite hikers dream to the Erawan waterfalls for a dip of paradise.

A must re the WW2 history.

A must re the WW2 history. Thai Burma Railway Museum really interesting and a good companion to the more personal Hellfire Pass Interpretive Centre. The latter is worth a good few hours. We went by Grab and came back by bus to maximise the time and did the longer walk (walk takes c 3 hrs out and back). Take the train to Nam Tok and sit on the left going out. If you take the mid morning train you can come back straight away on the same train (need a new ticket tho). Get off at the Bridge station on the way back and walk across it. War cemetery beautifully kept. Good Times restaurant by river is really nice and staff are great.

Sai Yok is a big place which encompasses National Parks, reservoirs and dams as well as forests, mountains, animal sanctuaries, rivers and even a World War 2 death railway. You can choose to drive up in a personal car, as I did, about 3 hours from Bangkok but on a very scenic route, or you can take the train. Once there you can travel on the famed river Kwai if you want to and see all of the natural beauty and wildlife that abounds. I only went for 3 days this time but it is about my 12th visit as I live in Bangkok, and I always find that there is something different to do, just be aware of the rainy season which can curtail anyone's day.

This place is pure magic, not like anywhere else. Gorgeous reservoir, awe-inspiring loooong wooden bridge, water and boating activities, excellent local food and daily market and hugely eager local people that do their best despite living in hard times. You’ll leave a little bit changed.

There is nothing about this place that I would recommend!

There is nothing about this place that I would recommend! This should be 200 baht per night, not 2500! The room is atrocious, the drinks menu had many options but unless you like Tiger beer, you’re out of luck! 350 baht for Tom Yum that even my Thai partner couldn’t eat! Hot water was broken and was eventually fixed after I insisted! Every food service was cold! Of course, I wanted to leave immediately but no refund! And of course booking.com don’t answer any queries! So let’s review them as well! Have sent 2 emails and had no response! Happy to take your money but that’s it! As a genius level member, you would think that they would care about something that they are promoting! Apparently not so bye bye Booking.com

Lots of history surrounding the Bridge on the river Kwai.

Lots of history surrounding the Bridge on the river Kwai. The World War Two grave sites and museums are great to visit to help understand the history of the area, and create a very solemn and sobering mood, particularly for people from certain nations.

I travelled to Sai Yok by car, so was able to explore the area easily. I didn't book any organised trips. Sai Yok National Park was worth the Foreigner price - the waterfalls were easily accessible, and if I was younger and fitter I would have been able to spend a long time wandering about. I refused to pay the foreigner price for Lawa Cave, as did the Western family with four children who arrived at the same time. I did not feel that the experience would be worth it, and for the family it would have been extremely expensive. Thin Lin Hot Springs, however, charges the same price for everyone. Affordable for Thai people and an absolute bargain for Westerners. The pools are tiled, so do not look natural, but it is very clean and a beautiful place. There is a roped off area in the nearby river, so it is possible to swim and paddle safely without fear of being swept away. The current is very strong. The area is very beautiful and quite unspoilt. I recommend it for those wanting a peaceful, back to nature type of holiday.
