The location is fine and close to all major attractions and necessary nearby services. The hotel rooms were clean and tidy even the breakfast options were good value.
Highly recommend a stay in this hotel if you're passing by Tunis, especially given it's near the aeroport and allows for all travelers to skip the pre-stress flight process.

The indoor pool and spa / relaxation area are also really nice. The hotel is beautiful, spotless, and decorated with great taste. Breakfast was excellent and the staff provided great restaurant recommendations. I would definitely return!

A beautiful property, excellent location across from the beach. The terrace / restaurant on the top floor is excellent. The suite I stayed at was very nice with two small balconies facing the beach. The staff are superb. Many thanks to Thamer at reception for being amazingly helpful in booking a tour for me on a short notice to visit Dougga and Bulla Regia, and also for him and the hotel’s kind gesture on my birthday which was on my first day at that hotel. Also many thanks to Jemal at the ground floor restaurant and to all the staff there for being always kind, professional and very helpful. A memorable stay.

I LOVED the suite! Such a good value - we had very spacious rooms with super comfortable, king-sized beds, a full size fridge in the kitchen, a living area where our group of 5 could hangout comfortably together and eat and two spacious bathrooms. And the staff! They really went beyond our expectations. We had very early flights and without our asking, they ordered a selection of foods from the breakfast buffet that was packaged for easy carry to the airport. They gave us enough food for three people in each person's bag.

First of all I would like to thank hotel Carlton as I had to cancel two times due to various objective reasons and both times I was not charged although cancellations were a day before arrival. The third time I finally came. The staff was professional and helpful. Rooms are exactly like in the pictures, beds are causy and the breakfest has a very solid variety of food. I think three days were just right for the stay. One day around Sidi Bou Said area, one day in the Tunis medina and one day in Bardo museum and archeological sites. I missed Bardo museum because it is closed on the Mondays. Taxi drivers try to rip off tourists as normal. Negotiate 50% or less of the asking price.

Sidi Bou Saïd is a magical place full of charm and light. 🌿 The white and blue streets perched above the sea offer breathtaking views. Everything is within walking distance — you can easily explore the whole village on foot, and even reach the ancient ruins of Carthage, just 2 km away.
For food lovers, I highly recommend Dar Zarrouk and Le Bon Vieux Temps — two of the best restaurants in Tunisia, both offering delicious dishes and stunning sea views. 💙

Nice area. A lot of the shops and stuff are relatively spread out. Really nice people who genuinely help you. Taxis are a bit of a pain from the airport, as they were a little expensive to what I would have thought. However you have to bargain with them a bit.

The location of Dar Salah Bey is very good and has access to everything nearby, the house is cosy, loved the architecture and design, but the owner of the property is required to improve the facilities and kitchen equipment, like good knives for cooking, a new set of forks, spoons, and cooking tools, also provide a good iron and iron board, fix the leakage of a tap connected to the washing machine, provide new and fresh bed covers and sheets, and also provide clothes drying rack, as we struggled to dry our clothes.

The Saharan trips are the best (Star Wars sets, off-roading in the desert, camel rides, a bit of hiking and climbing); Sidi Bou Said is beautiful but packed with tourists. The Bardo Museum in Tunis is spectacular. The food is amazing; shout out to Bab Tounis restaurant in the Medina. Go to Carthage and also the vineyards. There's so much to do in this country—plan at least 10-12 days.

La marsa beach was right outside our guest house. We could walk to the main part of the beach and the shops and restaurants. We were out of season, visiting during Ramadan so it was relatively quiet. Some restaurants were not open at all, some only during the day, others only at night. We managed to find somewhere to eat every day.
I can recommend the Cliff restaurant, Pasta mi Basta (very accommodating with our friend who had various intolerances), Kenko food bar and Blu Blu (Sidi Bou). There was a supermarket which catered for our needs.
We also visited the capital Tunis and Sidi Bou Said which had lovely shops and stunning views.

Sidi Bou Said is a traditional village, plenty of market stalls and restaurants to suit all budgets, sea views at various locations throughout the village are excellent. Some steep and uneven surfaces to deal with but well worth it.
