Staff were always waiting to open your car door and were very welcoming every time we arrived back. The price is very affordable for what you get. United StatesEveryone who worked there was amazing. Very nice and helpful. I booked a tour through them after I failed to do so online and it was so easy. The pool is fabulous . The room is huge and the bed is comfortable. The pillows are perfect. I did not eat ruler but the buffett looked really impressive .There are great restaurants nearby and a family mart or 711 is really close , I can't remember which one. There is a bank in the lobby and that's amazing for money exchange.

Room was clean, spacious with hot spring installed in the bathroom. very relaxing and rejuvenating. public hot spring has 2 options, naked or with bathing suit on. like that the steam room here provide salt so you can scrub a little bit and leave the salt on and steam, very good for skin!
nothing grand or fancy but the mattress, pillows and beddings are very very very comfortable.
we had a feast during dinner (free flow beer! Though we only drank 1 glass, not good to get drunk for hot spring), that gesture of having free flow beer is just generous! cuisine is more tailored for Asian stomach if you are foreigners might have less options.

We stayed in the Line theme rooms for our family of 7. The rooms were huge and on the top floor. And while my kids are teenagers, they were so happy with all the themed decorations (wallpaper, photo frames etc) and amenities (even the room slippers and toiletries were in the Line characters). They also gave 2 Line character soft toys for each room per night so I ended up with 8 big soft toys for the 2 nights I stayed. Btw, complimentary snacks (potato chips, prawn crackers, rice crackers etc) and drinks (soft drinks, juices, etc) were also given and replenished everyday.

Both breakfast and dinner was spectacular. Their spa the best in the city as it has both indoor and outdoor pools. Loation in a quiet scenic area. Their zen garden with gold fish delightfull. My stay was concentrated in the older part of the city.
My stay was concentrated in the older part of the city. Overall quite a couple of interesting places to visit. "Lin, Chih-Chu Memorial", "National Taiwan Museum of Comics" and "Taichung Literature Museum". There's also quite a number of interesting cafes but I didn't have the time to try them out. But I did visit "Mamonaku Cafe" at "Taichung Station Railway Cultural Park". A must visit for any train or railway enthusiast. Do visit with a group of 2 or 3 if you want to secure a more instagram worthy seating. I was alone and tried to request to change seat, but they said they had to reserve the seats in question for bigger groups. Reasonable considering they only have about 6 to 7 tables. Oh and do drop by this store called "TR鐵道故事館 新烏日店" if you're visiting the city via High Speed Rail (HSR). It's located at Xinwuri Station, which is a transit station for Taichung HSR Station. Lots of train merch. Also do note that there seemed to have quite a number of homeless people hanging around Taichung Station (Not HSR) and along the Green River trail. They didn't do anything that bothers or causes harm to me, but still something to take note of.

Highway 8 crossing central Taiwan from West to East. However, part the highway has been closed due to geohazar disaster. Heping the the last town on the way to the closed road. Heping is a small town, located by southern hill of the valley, and famoused with it's clear hot spring. Every year, Thousands of hounderd travelers came from around the world to stay here, to enjoy it hot spring, mountain trails, and special local mountain foods. It is a good place to plan for 2 days and 1 night stay.

Best of Taichung's tourist attractions are well separated; some need 30-60 mins travel. Taichung Main Station area is worth exploring on foot, and there are likely other areas. City is modern, with many neighborhoods showing their age, giving the city much character and hinting strongly at long past daily lifestyles.

Carrefour in Taroko Mall near Train station has good selection of grocery items. Prices are okay.
Not far from seaside and beach, maybe one hour by bus.
People were helpful, in general. However, bus station is difficult to find and people working there do not have the correct information. This was my biggest criticism of my stay.
