The hotel is on and almost in the Indian ocean. At high tide the waves strikes heavily the barriers of the beach stretch. The power of the ocean is amazing. The management care for details in all aspects, coushions on the beach beds, quality wooden beautiful furnitures in restaurant and outside rooms, amazing breakfast buffet with everything you need. The nearness to the ocean makes a quite narrow beach stretch which is positive: the beach boys are few cause they have very little space. I really like the local life of villagers and fishermen which you can watch and enjoy from the hotel. It gives whole Jambiani an authentic feeling. The restaurant is situated on the second floor which gives it a very fresh breeze. The food is tasty and rich. The staff cares for you, tries to remember your name and tries their absolutely best to make you feel like home.

The location is perfect. Peace and enjoy the almost untouched nature on one side, and on the other, a 10,15-minute easy walk takes you to Paje beach. Breakfast was a combination of buffet and a la carte service and very tasty. The staff is always at your service and with a smile on their face.

We stayed here in bungalow on mid of the December for 4 nights . The resort is beautiful , the bungalow had everything we need . Nice room with private outside bathroom . The property is big , where you will have your own sun beds and shade with pool next to you to cool off . The bungalow's are not sounds proof if you know what i mean 😈 . The staff was excellent, they even made a nice dinner "African Style" set up at the Waka Waka restaurant for our last night upon the request . Everything outside the bungalow are on the sand so you can walk barefoot and feel the beach everytime you outside .

Most relaxing place I know on the planet. Locally built, owned an run lodge in a not very developed part of Zansibar. Not for people who wants parties and beach life, but if you're after beautifull surrondings, friendly environment and comfy, relaxing days this place is highly recommended. Food selection is a little limited, room standard is not european, and its about as remote as you get on Zansibar, but none of this matters to me.

1. Villas are located in a wonderful, paradise like area and surrounded by the village. I could feel the local vibes but still I was feeling very safe ( there is always someone minding the place). The ocean is clean and safe for swimming once tide is high and excellent for long walks once tide is low. 2. Each day 2 bottles of water were delivered to villa, which made so much difference as we did not have to walk and carry water ourselves. There is also very good selection of teas and coffee available plus a safe in case you want to keep your belongings there. 3. The staff is the biggest asset there. Very helpful and always ready to help. They organised our trips the way we wanted. There is no need to go somewhere else to feel safe and happy, while exploring this beautiful island. 4. They have this beautiful lady there who prepared the most amazing sesame seed bread. Must try! 5. Whole place is very clean and food great. In summary this was our first trip to Africa so we were not sure if going directly without travel agent is not a mistake. It was not we had fabulous time.

It's a wonderful place. The bungalows are awesome. A bit dark inside, but the atmosphere is great... white sand everywhere, thus you need flip-flops or similar only if you go outside the area for some trip. People are very friendly and helpful; you can completely switch off and enjoy your vacation in a wonderful place. This time did a lot of trips to enjoy the island, but next time, we will just come directly to this resort and don't move; just enjoying relaxing and refreshing mind and body.

The customer service, hospitality, cleanliness, ambience, and tranquility from before, during and after our trip was first class service. Xanadu goes above and beyond to ensure your stay is perfect!! Not once were we bombarded with bills. We accorded the respect and treated like royalty!!! Best vacation and highly recommendable - definitely a value for money!!!

I came for the second time because I like this place so much, and I can't wait to hopefully come for a third time one day... Thank you for everything, you and the place are simply amazing!

I like it very much. It's on the beach, quite, has a private beach. I will come back for sure.
