The hotel is located close to the beach, making it a perfect spot for a relaxing vacation. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-maintained, providing a very comfortable stay.
What truly stood out for me was the garden – it’s beautifully designed and adds a serene atmosphere to the property. However, the highlight of my stay was the staff. They are incredibly kind, polite, and always ready to help. Their warmth and hospitality made the experience even more special.
I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Zanzibar. It’s a perfect blend of comfort, cleanliness, and exceptional service!

Also they contacted us through whatsapp before we come to make sure everything is clear with their facility, restaurants recommendations, breakfast timings, and more. They made great decorations for me & my daughter birthday. Also they provided a yummy fruity cake. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone who wants to visit Zanzibar, the place is near the beach only two min away. Near all the activities, and local shops, and restaurants. Max was very welcoming, they have friendly dog that my daughter loved alot. I LOVED the place so much, definitely gonna stay here again if am back to Zanzibar.

A very good hotel, with extremely kind staff, and the hosts are very welcoming and give you the impression that they are your friends. We came here with toxic food infection from another hotel, and the managers were very nice and attentive to make us feel as good as possible.
The hotel is extremely close to The Rock, a 5 minute walk to the beach and can be seen directly from the beach. It's worth getting there at least once to take a picture, but the food is better at the hotel restaurant and it's not expensive.
We stayed here for 4 days, during which we tried almost every food they have on the menu and I can say that it is very tasty (they also have an extremely good pizza).
The bungalow we stayed in was very clean, just like in the pictures. A small suggestion, to bring adapters for UK socket with you if you are traveling from Europe.
The place is very quiet, with a very beautiful beach and without much seaweed. Also, in the area there are not so many Maasai people or people who will approach you with excursions.
The hotel offers you different packages with excursions that can be taken directly from them without having to resort to all kinds of locals who may not offer you the same safety or trust. They can also call you a taxi to get to different places on the island, as well as transfer from/to the airport with one of the best drivers, Mustafa.
It is a hotel that I recommend with confidence, a hotel that I definitely want to come back to, where you can relax and enjoy the Zanzibar vibe that it offers you, combining the modern with what it offers you the island.

I really liked that the hotel is right by the beach so i could go to the beach all the time and go for different activities. my room was clean. I was given 2 bottles of water each time they cleaned the room which is really good. Zanzibar was very Hot so i am very glad the room had AC and a ceiling FAN. I liked that the bathroom had a water heater because i prefer hot showers. The staff were friendly and nice from the cleaning staff to the receptionist to the waiters and waitresses at the restaurant. The swimming pool was clean and the beds by the pool were more than enough for the guests. the hotel is located in a quiet area so i got to rest and enjoy my vacation away from the noise of the city. the restaurant food was amazing. i liked having meals with the view of the ocean. Also as a solo traveller woman, I felt safe here. Lastly, my departure flight was late in the night so at check out time they helped me keep my bags in the luggage room so i could continue to relax till it was time to leave.

My stay at Diamond Mpenzi was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, the team went above and beyond to make me feel valued and appreciated. I was pleasantly surprised with a beautiful room upgrade, which I truly believe was a thoughtful recognition of my continued loyalty to the Diamonds brand — from Diamonds Leisure in Diani to Diamonds Malindi. This gesture meant a lot and set the tone for a truly memorable stay.
The staff were incredibly friendly, warm, and attentive, making every interaction effortless and enjoyable. Their professionalism and genuine hospitality stood out throughout my stay.
The food was simply amazing — rich flavors, fresh ingredients, and a variety that catered to every preference. Every meal felt carefully prepared and served with care.
Overall, Diamond Mpenzi exceeded my expectations in every way. I genuinely appreciate the consistency of excellence across the Diamonds properties, and I look forward to returning soon.

The service at this hotel is the best I have experienced. Khadija and Salim took great (and warm) care of us, following up on everything related to us and our stay. Nicole took care of any concerns with sincerity. Front desk Ali and the others, all so welcoming, helpful and friendly. Others, like Tunu, Abu Bakr, Washa and so many others that unfortunately would be impossible to mention all their names, made us feel happy, special and made our experience extremely enjoyable. Special mention to the impressive daily atmosphere and food of Kilimanjaro restaurant. Lovely hotel, on a beautiful beach.

Our stay was absolutely perfect!!! The attention to details and the service was great. Special thanks to (Mercy) in front desk for arranging the birthday dinner and decor for my husband. Also a special thanks to the room service team (Sophia & Shakira) for going above and beyond with making sure we are looked after.
The resort is stunning, pool area is beautiful and the service is outstanding.
Another special thanks to the Chef (Satish) for the excellent food served in the resort.

I can't say enough about how wonderful the Tulia property and staff are. I can say that I went back half-way around the world to stay there again, even though there are a lot of closer beaches and islands. And I dragged my friend along with me this time. Exclusive, warm, welcoming, clean, top notch food (esp. at Maisha Restaurant - went for dinner), excellent service, amazing beach (sandy, clean, Kendwa beach is one of the nicest in the Zanzibar) with guards watching all the time so that you are not bothered by the beach boys. Truly a 5 star hotel with top standards.

From what I've seen this is one of the best hotels on the island. The beach is with white sand, and the guards are keeping away the "merchants". The food was very good, and the whole hotel complex is absolutely not crowded.

There are a lot of hidden costs when coming to Nungwi.
There are a lot of hidden costs when coming to Nungwi. If you book any excursions, be prepared to pay double what you book for as they add on conservancy and entry fees on top. The beaches are not the crystal clear blue that you think. The beaches are highly affected by the tides. When it is low tide the beach is covered with seaweed and the water is too far out for you to swim. You only get to swim for a few hours a day when it is in high tide. If I were booking to come back to Zanzibar, go to Paje!!

Kiwengwa is an amazing place , only annoying this is the amount of African people that hassle you on the beach - men dressed as masi that are not from the the masi Maru tribe ( pretending they are ) and annoying you when you trying to enjoy a peaceful walk it is over bearing and no one wants that on their holiday - was most beaches in Zanzibar !!

Matemwe is a perfect destination for anyone who wants peace and quiet, but still has access to great activities. You can easily arrange dolphin watching and swimming tours – look for Captain Lucho, he helped us with everything and made the experience amazing. A beautiful and relaxing place to stay!

Kendwa beach was definitely the best beach compared to Nungwi, especially the south part. Even in low tide it was easy to take a swim. Also the beach here is wider and feel less crowded. As on the complete stretch there were many people trying to sell you stuff but on the south part not so many ”permanent” sales people other than the ones having sheds. The Maasai roaming around are friendly but just say no with a smile and most will not be persistent in their effort to sell you something..

This is not a touristy location... it is off the beaten...
This is not a touristy location... it is off the beaten track... a village, by the sea, with an increasing number of resorts being added. I hope it does not lose its charm to the crowds. This is a quiet, special place.

I loved that it was a proper reflection of the Island in that you took home the beauty of the place and kindness of the people.
It was not loud or noisy and had very few touristy hotels and vendors hassling you

Michamvi is located approximately 65 kilometers from Forodhani, and the journey can feel quite long—particularly if you have just arrived in Zanzibar. The drive is somewhat uncomfortable due to the condition of the road, which consists largely of worn, uneven tarmac. Additionally, the area lacks local street food options, leaving nearby hotels—most of which are high-end and expensive—as the primary dining choices. As someone who genuinely enjoys the rich and flavorful cuisine of Stone Town, I found the food in the area to be rather bland and not reflective of its price point.
