Location was good bus every 15 minutes into town room was clean and tidy very pleased with size of room no breakfast but Hungry Horse across the road catered for that instead very happy with everything.

Not too far to walk into the centre. Free parking was handy. Local green king opposite was great for breakfast and good quality. The bed was comfy.

Everything was suited my needs. Mike, the host is very kind and very helpful !

My room was lovely, comfortable, nicely decorated and very quiet. The location of the room at the backside allowed me the privacy to do work (writing). The lodge was in a good location for finding places to shop and dine - as well as for hopping local buses to get around.

Nothing to moan about, we're very happy with the Bowman Lodge..

Location was great, we usually stay around the same area..we were met by the owner, he showed us our room, which he upgraded us, thank you, asked if we knew the area, said we had been quite a few times, so knew about it.. The owner gave us the keys, and we didn't see him again, although the room was cleaned and tidied..

It was a bit too warm but that was not the fault of the guest house it was hot weather. We had the windows open the entire time which resulted in traffic noise

*Maybe a bigger TV in the room - replace the TV remote as may of the buttons/words on it are rubbed off and hard to read *Update the chair in the room *The key to the external bathroom it did work but it was awkward with the lock but did always open

*Location - very easy to get into Chester City centre. It is a 20 minutes walk. *Check In - nice and easy *Host - very friendly *Size of the room to what I paid *Very Clean *No problems with the external bathroom at all close to the room I was in *Close to local Hoole Shops/Pubs/Cafes

Shower a bit low pressure, and there isn't really any soundproofing, but that can be expected with the age of the property.

Mike was a great host - welcoming and knowledgeable about the local area. We were moved into a bigger family room, which was nice, and considering the age of the property, it has been kept nice and clean, as well! A good location near a small area of pubs and eateries, too.

I honestly can't think of anything negative to say about my recent trip to Chester 😊

Superb location just outside the city centre and a 10 minute walk from Chester rail station. The owner Mike was very welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful with regard local amenities, places to eat, public transport etc. Although Mike doesn't provide a breakfast there are lots of options available in the surrounding area including plenty of eateries on nearby Faulkner Street and Oakland's across the road which does a lovely cooked breakfast. My bedroom (single room) looked onto the main road, and although busy during the day it was quiet post 6pm and I had no problem getting to sleep on both nights of my stay. Bed was firm and comfy too. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending the Bowman Lodge to anyone planning a stay in the beautiful city of Chester. I will certainly be returning in the very near future.

Would have liked breakfast included (knew it was not before booking), but due to pub over road it wasn’t really a problem.

The bed and the floor were squeaking (part of old hotel charm, but a bit annoying)
