Very charming, family-run hotel in the hills of the Douro Valley with not only an extraordinary view on the bending river. But most strikingly - the house has personality which obviously reflects the owner’s passion for place, history and intimacy. Vintage items, personal photos here and there makes you feel like staying at a friends’ place who also has lovely recommendations at hand when you look for places to explore. And if you want to just relax and enjoy the view - the hotel’s pool and the surrounding terraces are just perfect to calm down. Moreover: one of us was sick during our stay - and the hosts were super helpful, understanding and supporting, this was extraordinary. Thank you so much!

Octant Douro located in Vista Alegre, Castelo de Paiva. Offering a stunning infinity pool the hotel overlooks the Douro River blending itself with the surrounding nature. The view from our room was amazing. The staff were amicable and professional. We took the boat tour on the Douro, which was relaxing and scenic. We would definitely go back again to the Octant Douro.

Nestled along the Douro River, Douro Hotel Porto Antigo. is housed in a historic building. It features an outdoor swimming pool, in-house massages and a restaurant serving European dishes. The location and views from the hotel are amazing. Breakfast was excellent, and the staff were extremely kind and welcoming.

Overlooking the scenic Douro River Valley, Quinta da Casa Cimeira, Guest House, Wines & Food is set in a historic country house and surrounded by a garden and vineyards. Our stay was amazing! Dinner and breakfast were of excellent quality, the Porto wine was among the best we tried and in unlimited quantities :)

Quinta Vilar e Almarde offers rustic-style accommodation in Castelo de Paiva. The location was remote but perfect for a getaway. Lovely gardens and swimming pool. Local village about 10 minute drive away with a number of restaurants available. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Quinta de S.Bernardo - Winery & Farmhouse is offering accommodation in Mesão Frio. Among the various facilities are a garden, a terrace, as well as a shared lounge. This is probably the best positioned hotel in all of Douro valley as you are down by the river. It's beautiful and peaceful and you're surrounded by nature. The hotel staff is super helpful and professional. The hotel offers activities like kayaking and stand up paddling. We stayed in the villa which had incredible views and slept so well. I'm recommending this hotel to all of my friends!

Boasting a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, garden and views of garden, Quinta Da Marka is situated in Covas do Douro, 33 km from Douro Museum. It was a brilliant location, Angela and her team really gave us great service, with Angela helping with local things to do, even gave us a ride to the train station which was a great option to get into Pinheo (?) , we were spoiled as we were the only guests but there were so many areas both inside and out, the food was brilliant and the views were amazing too,

Set in Alpendurada, Quinta de VillaSete features accommodation with seating area. The property has mountain and pool views. Everything was beautiful! It’s a 800 year old building but in pristine and very chique furniture & design. It has recent expansion and it is top quality walls, bedroom & bathroom. The view from rooms, lounge, patio, pool, and dining room is pristine like a painting. The owner and those that work there are incredibly friendly, kind & accommodating. We felt like they were family’s The dinner, wine & desserts were top of the line. I highly recommend the place and if ever visiting Portugal, will stay again!
