The location was amazing, so close to the Skogafoss waterfall. Our rooms were comfortable and well stocked with clean towels and a gown incase we wanted to use the hot tub.
The beds were very comfortable.
It’s a self check in hotel and the key code access worked smoothly for the outer door but only one of our rooms. We called Hotel Skogafoss (as instructed) and the staff answered the phone promptly and solved the problem easily.
Complimentary hot drinks were available in the reception are which was a very welcome touch.
Breakfast was a good selection and the staff helpful, cooking more eggs and bacon on request as guests arrived to eat. There was homemade bread.
We ate a good dinner at the nearby Hotel Skogafoss.

Skogafoss is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world, impressively large, and if there is even a little bit of sunshine, there will be a rain bow in front of the falls. The town of Skogar includes a noteworthy folk history museum.

Great place to stop at while driving to Vik!
Great place to stop at while driving to Vik! There are many things to see and do and endless hiking paths to follow. A few waterfalls around including Kvernufoss, which was amazingly hidden, but very near the Skogar Museum. The museum offers a variety of exhibits on history of the area ( outside part including turf houses), but also technical part - really amazing and great thing to do when the weather is not promising. We stayed at hotel Skogafoss and we had a real blast there! Highly recommended due to facilities and service alike. There is a Eyjafjallajökull visitor centre, right below the volcano- unfortunately closed during winter season. We drove and walked to Seljavallalaug hot spring natural pool, where you can swim, however water is quite cold. The surroundings is beautiful though. Further south you can drive towards Dyrhólaey and Reynisfjara/Black beach. We loved Skogar area very much and had amazing time at different spots around.

The waterfall is the highlight, and if you have time, you should walk a bit further on the trail above it. It’s a beautiful hike.
The folk museum is amazing, sounds corny, but it’s really good. It has an excellent cafe too.
Area is close to Vik and the black sand beaches.
The bistro at hotel Skogafoss is consistent and the food is good and reasonably priced for Iceland.
Sadly the ‘secret’ waterfall now has a highway trodden too it and lots of erosion on site as people have climbed all over the grass outposts and killed all the vegetation.
Nice reception area with helpful staff. Free hot drink facilities in reception.
Rooms were bigger than expected with a wet room shower. Bed was comfy.
Had the icelandic lamb for dinner in their restaurant which was delicious, cost £26 but I think that's good for Iceland!
Quiet location and plenty of parking.
Breakfast was basic but adequate - cereal, dried fruits, jam, peanut butter, cream cheese, cold cuts, boiled egg salad, breads, fresh fruit, juices & hot drinks.
Fine for 1 night.
The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about things to see nearby. The restaurant is excellent. We had breakfast and dinner twice, all the food was freshly prepared and very tasty. The location is quiet, a little off the ring road but easy to reach. Rooms are nice and very comfortable and clearly designed with the idea of providing a cozy, welcoming environment.
The hotel is an old boarding school in an attractive area next to the Skogafoss waterfall.
The breakfast lounge was most conducive and the large screen pop videos were a delight.
The breakfast choices, including a cooked dish, were superb and way beyond what one would expect for this, a budget hotel. It´s worth a stay just to enjoy the breakfast!
The hotel was very nice, clean and comfortable. The location was fantastic, just a few minutes from Skógafoss waterfall and less than 30 minutes from Seljalandsfoss waterfall. The breakfast was good and what you would expect from a hotel in this price range (no complaints). The staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
One of our favorite places on our trip! Wonderful and very helpful staff. Beautifully modern and chic lobby, restaurant, and breakfast area. Fantastic breakfast selection. Huge bathrooms. Unbeatable location right near the waterfall, with a great view of the falls during a delicious dinner. Comfortable beds and lots of storage in the rooms.
check in was very efficient; dinner was top quality with good service; room was clean; coffee/tea maker in entrance hall quite handy; breakfast was good; location and view from room amazing. Superb location for anyone visiting south Iceland; lots of parking; hotel very quite - no traffic or other noise.
The breakfast was fabulous, with cooked options, plenty of fruit and vegetables, cereals, home-made jams... and mini custard doughnuts were a real hit!
Perfect location within walking distance from the Skogar Museum, Kvernufoss and Skogafoss.
Friendly staff at the check-out.
You couldn't ask for a better location, just down the street from Skogafoss. I used the single room with access from the outside and it was perfect for my needs. The main part of the building has a nice kitchen with everything you need. Everything was spotless and tasteful.
Self contained apartment with large foyer, two large bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom. Loved the little boot heater/dryer. View was fantastic. Menus of local restaurants in foyer. Bathroom had heated towel racks.
Convenient location for access to Skogafoss, literally a few minutes walk away. We had a very nice meal at the restaraunt within the main (affiliated?) Hotel Skogafoss.
