Food was great, and there was something to suit every budget...
Food was great, and there was something to suit every budget. As an olive lover, I was in heaven! Shopping was plentiful, souks but also some real stores - everything seemed to be available - wish we had more of a luggage allowance! People were in the majority extremely nice, people made an effort to speak to you and welcome you (even young children in the streets) we found bartering in the souks a very pleasant and fun experience, shop owners were knowledgeable of their goods and the skill and craftmanship was great. Dislike - people (mainly young men) insisting that ‘this way is closed’ when navigating the medina, to try and misguide you - some would even proceed to follow you and make you uncomfortable- such a minority of people but it was a daily occurrence that we really didn’t enjoy, even though we expected it from reading other traveller reviews and our Riad concierge warning us.

Marrakech lived up to expectations, but I doubt I would go again . I wasn’t comfortable in the medina and felt the shop owners and staff had an extremely intimidating attitude verging on rudeness. We have stayed 7 night in Marrakech. It was amazing experiance. We just loved it. People are so nice. No one bothered us, no one was asking for money, if you don t want to buy something you can still watch it normally, so there are many different stories online, but trust me - just go open minded and with open heart and you will enjoy it. Food is amazing. Architecture also. I was taking photos 24/7 :D

It's and exciting vibrant city with lots to do and see. People in general are friendly although be on your guard because some are not genuine. The traffic was awful and seems out of control so this is another thing to be aware of when walking in the city. The choice of restaurants and food options is amazing and you can purchase some decent bargains from the market, just be wary of people trying ti rip you off. I could not fault the taxi drivers, I used 5/6 diferent drivers whilst there and they all seemed decent and didnt expect much money for my rides, it beat risking my life contending with the traffic on foot! Carrafour Eden supermarket is great for picking up supplies for your accomodation if you dont have meals included.

Fascinating place . Great place for short break 4 days max . Not good for children . Very friendly people . Slightly marred by incessant motorbikes pushing through souk and narrow alleys . This felt very unsafe and made browsing not at all relaxing . Don't know why the locals put up with it .

What an amazing city. Safe, respectful and fun. We laughed a lot with the incredibly friendly locals. The souks and Jmaa al fan square were amazing. Lots of hustle and bustle but none of the hassle you sometimes get elsewhere. We ate really well “La Famille” and “Cafe Clock” were great for lunch. Terrasse des Epices is very cool with great food. Tasting menu at Dar Moha is an indulgent treat. Guide books recommend taking a taxi to Jardin Majorelle but we walked it from Kasbah Mosque in about 45 minutes. Either way you should definitely visit the garden together with Berber and YSL museums. We were only there for 3 nights - I would definitely go back.SeanUnited Kingdom
