While our room was nothing special, it was comfortable and had the basics we needed. The hotel grounds were nice and well kept up. The included breakfast was a nice addition as well. You really can't beat the location though. You are right in the heart of the De Koog village with restaurants and shops just outside the door. You can be at the beach in less than a 10 minute walk.
The intimate Hotel Greenside Texel is situated on the edge of the picturesque village of De Koog, 10 minutes walking from the North Sea beach.

We were only there for a few days and this combined with the 'Waddenweather' I would have wanted to stay a bit longer.
Our stay at the Smederij was nothing short of perfect and I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to visit De Cocksdorp. You're right next to de Slufter and various other nature reserves and parks. A short walk brings you to the Waddensea for a muddy walk.
We rented e-Bikes in town and for food I'd definitely recommend Bij Joost, which offers a variety of local beers, lunch and dinner. Great service and great food for non-touristy prices. Be sure to call ahead and make reservations if you want to have dinner in town anywhere that isn't the snack place. Almost all restaurants have vegetarian options, but vegan options come with more research.
Right across from Bij Joost is a water playground, a table tennis table and some wooden games like connect four and Ludo (mens-erger-je-niet).
Visit the Bird Information centre if you're here for birdwatching. They sell a huge collection of guides, souvenirs, birdhouses and binoculars (the quality and prices are for true bird fans though) and even have a surprising collection of stuffed birds local to the area to check out.
Each Thursday in summer there's a market which offers a lot of second hand goods, but also local foods (cheese, fish, sausage) and clothing. The Plus supermarket is open each day of the week for your regular groceries and budget-friendly snacks.

A nice and small town with a few restaurant options with very kind people. The lighthouse and the beach are nice too (better if you have not windy days). There are not a lot of activities to do (walk or bike in the surroundings). It is a bit far away from the other towns on the island if you are on foot or bike only. It is a lively trio to go to the other towns through the dunes path or following the cost.

The village of The Cocksdorp has an excellent location very near to the sea, bird breeding grounds, water features and woods. Cycle paths are everywhere and the connecting paths between the main locations are separated from car traffic. There are plenty of restaurants and bars very nearby and some have great views. Shopping is possible in local shops and in a supermarket. All this in walking distance.
We liked a lot that it was so easy to check in and check out - no need to come at a specific hour, make a receptionist wait. We just inserted a code and got our key from the box. Our room was more than we expected. Spacious, cozy and clean, even the small details taken into consideration. Like a heated floor (which our cat admired). Pet friendly hotel was one of the most important features for us, as our cat is family.
To sum up, me and my husband spent unforgettable weekend at a lovely island in the awesome hotel. Big thanks!
Our stay at Hotel Molenbos was very nice. It is situated delightfully close to the lighthouse, breakfast was nice and the dinner we had in the hotel restaurant was very good. Everybody was very nice and the hotel was very quiet at night. Everything was very clean. The bathroom with bath was also very very nice and I appreciated the hotel providing soaps, lotions, shampoo and conditioner.
We loved everything about this hotel: breakfast, facilities, cleanliness, staff, dinner in the restaurant. It exceeded our expectations. Also, gluten free options were no issue and delicious. We did not use the spa so can't say anything about that. The pool was lovely with view to the outside, it was clean and we were lucky most of the time to have to pool to ourselves.
The expectation of this kind of hotel is that it is personal and friendly. That was most definitely the case. Also on my first morning, I had an early round of golf and normally breakfast is served later. But the staff was so kind to serve breakfast a bit earlier so I could have breakfast before my round.
The hotel is in a good location for those with a car and the rooms are clean. The swimming pool is a good bonus. They have plenty of parking incl an electrical charging point. It is also nice that you can rent bikes right at the hotel.
The staff is very very friendly (big plus)
Everything was perfect. I got off the ferry and the Texelhopper took me right to the hotel. Hotel owner was very nice and he made the breakfast bar, although it was me staying there on a weekday in the slow season. Very cute hotel.
Breakfast was good, with a good selection. The staff were welcoming and polite and all could speak English very well.
The hotel restaurant and lounge was stylish and nicely designed. Lovely gardens too.
The stay was close to the Texel light house. You can reach the light house in 30 to 40 minutes by walk. There are many restaurants close to the hotel. The hosts are really good and very welcoming.
-The location of this hotel was perfect, easy access to all surrounding towns.
-The pool facilities were very nice
-The rooms and hotel were clean and well maintained.
Lovely decorated comfortale room. Spacious and clean. Beds and linen very comfy. Service and staff was exceptional. Location was amazing. Hotel was really beautiful.
