Tromsø is a delightful city in a breathtaking location.
Tromsø is a delightful city in a breathtaking location. We went in May and enjoyed midnight sun over snowy hills. Local people were lovely, very friendly, excellent English. Cards accepted everywhere, didn't use any cash all week. Plenty to see and do, mostly within walking distance but we got cheap 24 bus passes and explored in all directions too. Tromsø billet app useful for cheap tickets. Tourist info staff very helpful. We had a fantastic fjord cruise on the Brim Explorer - highly recommended. Food excellent too, local cafes for lunch, enjoyed a particularly good Indian meal at the Indie Restaurant.

Tromso was okay, only small, not a lot to do, plenty souvenir shops, was nice for 3 nights but wouldn't go for any longer. We went on a boat on the fjords which was 4 hours, would have been better if had only been 2 hours, it was just mountains and water we found it to be boring, and it wasn't cheap, would we recommend, No.

Tromsø is breathtaking and definitely worth visiting, regardless of if you're chasing the polar lights, or just want to explore the city and the area during the day. The city is in close touch with nature and offers variety of different activities. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is going there during the Easter holidays (as I did), since a lot of stores, museums, restaurants, etc. tend to be closed.

Tromso is nice town with plenty of places to eat and drink.
Tromso is nice town with plenty of places to eat and drink. The restaurants offer a mixture of cuisine including local delicacies. There are a reasonable amount of shops offering local goods. It is an easy walk across the bridge to visit the Cable Car, definitely worth a visit to enjoy spectacular views. We arranged for a Northern Lights Tour which was fantastic. A comfortable, luxury coach drove us an hour outside of Tromso to an area with no light pollution, we had perfect weather so did not have to move on as the Northern Lights offered us the most wonderful light show for a four hour period. We were supplied with Hot Chocolate & cookies which kept us warm. The driver would have driven to another location if the weather had not been clear but on this occasion it was not necessary.

Tromsø is an amazing city.
Tromsø is an amazing city. It’s not as small as one may think.. has the right amount of grocery stores, cafés, bars etc. Quite a good nightlife, lots of young students/ tourists around so you’re never alone during solo travel! Tourism and guided activities are exceptional, they provide all the equipment, meals (in some cases) and transportation. Overall you will never be bored in Tromsø, I reccomend everyone to visit even if you’re not a sporty person there’s an activity for every fitness level.

I had a day there at the start and end of my holiday. Packed in quite a bit of sightseeing. The Troll Museum is a must visit!
Delicious king crab platter at Dragoy.
Saw the Northern Lights from the top of the cable car.
The hotel was very close to the port where we arrived on the Hurtigruten. They had a great tour desk where we booked tours including the Northern Lights which we got to see in all it's glory. You can also do dog sledding and reindeer sledding. They also have a great breakfast buffet. I enjoyed watching the snowflakes fly by the window whilst eating breakfast. Our room had a bath and shower which was a real comfort to help you relax.
Stayed in Tromso for 4 nights, the hotel was in a perfect location overlooking the very pretty harbour. We also booked the roof top jacuzzi twice, lovely views from the sauna and jacuzzi. Breakfast was very good, plenty of choice and took advantage of the afternoon tea and cake. Great value for money if you book the pec age with evening meal as Norway is an expensive place but with it
The location is excellent, right in the centre and only a one to two minute walk from the centre, the port and meeting points for trips. The breakfast was good. The hotel also offered free tea, coffee, juice and water throughout the day and at 7 pm they brought out a waffle machine! These were all very nice touches, especially as everything in Norway is so expensive.
We loved staying here we had such a good trip. It’s a lovely hotel food is nice and staff helpful. It’s close to the airport and meeting points for trips.
We loved Tromso and we were lucky to see northern lights in all their glory in November - we wouldn’t recommend whale watching tour. Loved the reindeer safari and northern lights trip and Tromso is amazing
This is a great hotel option in Tromso. Everything is very close in the downtown, and this is right in the heart. Rooms are modern, and the breakfast was fantastic. There is a great Texas shuffle board table in the lounge with free coffee and sparkling water. We took the airport express bus, and the stop is 200 m away.
Lovely cosy wee lodge. Absolutely perfect for our short stay. We thought this added to the experience far more than staying in a city centre hotel. The lodge was spotlessly clean and staff were very friendly. Saw the northern lights right outside our cabin 3 nights in a row - one of the best experiences of our lives.
Everything was great! The room had a perfect view of the sea and it was just wonderful. Beds were comfy and we loved the breakfast buffet. The hotel is a great place for pickup to all the tours and very central. It was nice knowing that all the tours we booked were meeting right outside the hotel.
Ewa from the reception welocmed us so nicely. The hotel is located directly in the city, close to many bus stops to get around. There is always fresh coffee and tee at the reception. The room was spacious and very nice.
It is a good place if you want to have the opportunity to see the Northern Lights just by leaving the house. The energy of the staff was excellent. It is a good place if you want a quiet stay with only what you need.
The view is perfect, we were able to see the northern lights from the window. It was close to the centre and the communication was good. Overall, it was nice to be there after a whole day outside.
Beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. Loved watching the Northern Lights from the terrace of the Skybar. Breakfast was amazing and bonus was on until 11am at the weekend....bonus
The hotel is really close to the city centre and to the meeting points for the organized tours (silent whale watching, fjords, northern lights chase). The room is clean and warm.
Amazing views- we even saw the northern lights from the hotel window. Perfect location near to shops, restaurants and excursions etc. Great range of breakfast options
