Our room was very spacious and comfortable. We were greeted by a friendly person and made arrangements for a great dinner. The breakfast, which was included, was very good with many choices. I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is located at the exit of Vik, in a very quiet area with plenty of nature! The room is very nice in warm colors with an ocean view! Both the bathroom and the room were clean! The restaurant where we had breakfast is very nice, and the breakfast buffet offered by the hotel is impressive in its diversity; all the products were fresh and of superior quality... we loved the freshly squeezed orange juice.

The room was big and comfortable and quiet as there aren’t many rooms. The breakfast was complimentary and very tasty. The staff lady was very helpful.

Must try black crust pizza.
Must try black crust pizza. The lookout point at Dyrhólaey panoramic views, don't miss it and of course the Black Sand beach. To visit the crashed US plane, either we can walk for 3 hours (both ways) or take shuttle which will cost ISK3000 per person.

Vik is a picturesque gem tucked along the country's stunning south coast! Reynisfjara Beach is easily accessible, where black sand meets crashing waves with towering basalt columns as the backdrop. The wind can get too strong which makes a part of the beach dangerous (sneaker waves warning), but it is still well worth visiting. The town is charming with cozy cafes (try the black crust pizza!), the locals are warm and welcoming. This town is the perfect location to embrace the opportunity to disconnect and immerse yourself in Iceland's raw beauty.

We stayed in Vik for 3 days. Totally loved it.
We stayed in Vik for 3 days. Totally loved it. It is quite a small town, but has a big supermarket (kronan), a really great quality hiking clothes/supplies store, plus a number of cafes and places to eat. We recommend Sudur Vik Restaurant especially.
We did the Katla Track ice cave tour which was amazing and left from Vik!! Also recommend Icelandic Mountain Guides Snowmobile tour - meeting point 25 mins drive from Vik. Black Sand beach is great, as is local open air pool.
We stayed in the Vik hotel which is fabulous, but as we were there for three days, I would have preferred an apartment. The hotel also operates the Vik Apartments (which I hadn't realised before I booked) - they look really good.

We based our family of 5 in Vik to explore the southern coast over 3 nights with our rental car. We found it easier to have one base rather than a different hotel each night.
We visited the Skogafoss Waterfall, Black Sand Beach, YODA caves, gorge hike, Glacier walk at Skaftafell and then onto the Glacier lagoon and Diamond Beach.
We didn’t eat out as it was expensive for what appeared average food so we went to the local supermarket and cooked back at our self catered apartment.
Vik offers lots of adventure based companies who organise tour and expeditions.
This wonderful Guesthouse was more than we could have imagined!! Gudrun was such a wonderful hostess - so welcoming and friendly to us! The best was finding the homemade waffle batter in the fridge for us!! After many days of traveling around Iceland, it was a delight to have a full kitchen with supplies. Location is awesome too - we enjoyed walking around charming Vik straight from the guesthouse. One of our best meals was at Sudur Vik which Gudrun recommended to us. I hope to be able to visit again!
The property’s location is perfect and the suite was really beautifully designed. The kitchen is small but I found it had everything we needed to prepare some of our own meals. The view was amazing. All of the staff we encountered were wonderful! It was an added surprise that there was a small bar in the reception area so it was nice to go for a drink after a day of exploring. I would absolutely stay here again the next time I’m in Iceland!
Located just 10min from Viki and the amazing Black Sand beach in a peace and quiet this place was absolute amazing. Little small but very cozy, and very comfortable.beds, in the kitchen we had everything we needed, fresh towels. Perfect place to stay in south of Iceland as many amazing places are to see and what's the bonus we got to see the aurora just from our balcony one night which was an unforgettable experience
This was my 5th visit to Iceland and for guesthouse stays this was my favourite!
As soon as you walk in you feel at home and you’re greeted with a big smile 😊
My room was so comfortable with amazing views over Vik.
The breakfast was fantastic and again with amazing views.
I even lay in bed and watched the Northern lights from my bedroom window 🥹
100% will stay here every time I visit Vik.
During the 4 days travel in Iceland this was the best hotel we stayed in
1. The guy in the reception very friendly and ready to help.
2. Chocolates and good maps on the reception
3. Great location
4. Comfy hot rooms
5. Very clean and new bathroom
6. Tea and coffee on the lobby
7. Parking
8. And of course amazing breakfast, loved it, will be back
There are only pluses . Thanks for hosting
The host was very nice. She rents out 3 bedrooms, but guests can use the Kitchen and living room. The house did not officially include breakfast, but the host had waffle batter and a waffle maker in addition to homemade treats. Smallish room but typical for Iceland. Short drive to Vik. 10 minutes drive to the popular black sand beach near Vik. Comfy mattress.
Excellent location for our pitstop in Vik, beautiful accommodations, front desk staff was wonderful. Restaurant had good food/drinks and the views were great! We only wished we could have stayed longer to enjoy the hotel more (we didn’t get to spend much time there due to other activities) and have recommended to several people doing stopovers in Iceland!
This is an excellent hotel for lovers of nature. It's in the middle of the Icelandic wilderness, next to the ring road, with plenty of exciting exploration activities nearby. It has a hot tub and a sauna, and the restaurant has both a-la carte and buffet options, with great variety and high quality of food. The rooms are comfortable and spacious.
One of the cutest places we have ever stayed. The host treated us like family members. The house itself is located near the most famous beach of the Iceland, you can get there by foot. And after driving 2 hours around the Vik to see the Northern lights,we saw them in front of the house, when we came back.
My dad and I stayed at Puffin Hostel Vík for one night on our two-week trip to Iceland. The room and communal areas (shared kitchen and bathroom) were very clean and tidy. The location was very convenient - it is about a 10-minute walk to the black sand beach in Vík where you can see nesting puffins. :)
Perfect! This apartment has everything we needed in a beautiful location. Easy to pick up keys at hotel right behind apartments. This is the most comfortable place we have stayed in all of Iceland. Highly recommend. Even had washer dryer that’s e weren’t expecting which was a pleasant surprise.
The hotel is very modern and easily accessible. We really enjoyed our room, we could see the beach from our bedroom window. We loved the breakfast, by far one of the best we had in Iceland, lots of choice. The hotel is very close to a great place called the soup company, we recommend it !
Very luxurious suite with everything one could need. The room was very big for Icelandic standards and has an amazing view. The staff were super nice. Super close to the black sand beach, Dyrhólaey, Vik and the school bus café "Skoolbeans". Can't wait to stay here again.
very pastoral, surrounded by farm animals and beautiful scenery! very comfortable bed, nice kitchen and living room for your use making it one of the best guest houses we have stayed at in Iceland so far! would definitely come back again if traveling around Iceland!
The host had allotted our cottages next to each other as per our initial request. The location of the property is just between dryholaey and Vik beach. Having a dishwasher was helpful, which we did not find otherwise in other properties during our stay in Iceland.
Hrund was incredibly nice and accommodating, even gave us homemade bread one evening. The room is clean and cozy, water is hot, and it’s walking distance to all of Vik’s main restaurants and stores. Perfect place to explore the south of Iceland.
Lovely hotel, bright with large windows and lovely view overlooking the landscape of southern Iceland. Great place to stay close to Vik and regional sites. Delicious breakfast, comfortable rooms, nicely decorated & very welcoming.
Lovely hotel, great location just 100m from the black sand beach. Supermarket close by . Breakfast was the best we had in Iceland - American buffet style , just want we needed for a day on the south coast.
One of the best hotel during our holiday in Iceland.
A good view towards the black sand beach.
The room is spacious and equipped with floor heating. The breakfast is also full of choices.
