It wasn’t my first stay in this gorgeous, historic motel. The new owners are very friendly. I booked a room too much and they looked if there was a solution. At the end we just kept the rooms we payed for. The owners are doing a great job preserving the place. In the morning you can get some freshly brewed coffee and a belvita breakfast cookie. My fiancé and I wrote a roadbook and when asking for a stamp, the owners got really enthusiastic about the book. I had a great stay. The rooms are so gorgeous! I had a great sleep in that comfy bed! (: If I’m doing the Route 66 in the future, I’ll come back, for sure! Great photography opps. The neon lights are gorgeous!

Lovely fresh motel. Nice sized clean room with comfy beds. Staff were lovely and friendly. Indoor swimming pool was a bonus. Free parking and wifi.

What makes this place special is the people who run it. Roel and Tiffany are so welcoming that staying at the Almara is like staying with old friends. I'm coming to end of a roadtrip around North America, so have stayed in dozens of places. Nowhere else offered this level of service...homemade breakfast tacos, with strong coffee and great company. I look forward to coming back.

This is my second stay at the motel. It has been over a year since my last stay but hotel owner recognized me and called me by name. It is very quiet and clean place. There is a bar on site if you want to get a drink. 10 stars.
