The whole experience from start to finish was delightful. A wonderful location in a remote part of the countryside with great facilities and helpful staff. One of the best places we stayed at on our trip to Costa Rica.

Posada el Quijote is located in San José and housed in a colonial-style building. It has a spacious garden, free Wi-Fi access and a snack bar. What an amazing and beautiful experience. We were going to stay at Posada just to rest after long travel as I was travelling alone with my 2 daughters 8 and 12 years old. But we ended up spending 4 days there and didn't want to leave. What a paradise this small, cute hotel is. We used the swimming pool a lot and couldn't stop walking around the garden and look at the banana trees and more. We spent whole days just there and enjoyed it so much. I cant promise the service and the staff enough, every single person wanted to go the extra mile for us and did everything they could so we would have a good experience. So beautiful people all of them. Thank you so much Posada el Quijote for the most beautiful experience and start of our first Costa Rica trip.

Located in San Gerardo de Dota, 19 km from Cerro de la Muerte, Lauraceas Lodge provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar. This was the best hotel we stayed in, in 5 weeks in Costa Rica. Everything was perfect, the design of the buildings, the aesthetics and attention to detail, the level of comfort, the service, the food, the cocktails(!) I have travelled a lot but this is one of the places in the world that will stay with me for a long time. Because of the altitude it does get chilly at night so come prepared and make adjustments as needed. For example, we would take a shower while it was still warm, in the late afternoon, rather than first thing in the morning.

Situated on the edge of Los Quetzatles National Park, Sueños del Bosque offers rustic bungalows with a free daily breakfast, free WiFi and views of the tropical cloud forest. It's a lovely place with nice accommodations, a beautiful area with their own forrest, waterfall and pond on hotel's property. The pond could be seen from our room, and the sound of Savegre river lulled our sleep at night. Consider the temperature is considerably cooler than most of Costa Rica's destinations, so bring your raincoats and jackets.
