We came to Norway from New York for a family trip across country from Oslo to Bergen in April 2023 and we had booked in for a night at Tuddal Høyfjellshotel to break up the drive. It was our first trip to Norway and had no idea that we were going to have one of the absolute best experiences of the entire trip together there. The place is simply beautiful. The people there are incredibly attentive and helpful. The food at dinner and breakfast is world class. The location is stunning. As a personal side note to the owners: My father came to the U.S. from Kongsberg when he was in his very early 20’s and started his new life and family. Growing up in Southern California where my brother and I were exposed to a lot of the antique Scandinavian items, colors, and style. My father was a committed collector at flea markets and swap meets everywhere, and anytime he came across an old collectible related to his homeland, he would proudly bring it home and share the story of it with us, and then find a place to display it in their home. When we came into the main building to check in to our rooms, I told my 17 and 20 year old daughters, “this…this is the story your Grandfather was trying tell us with all those things”.

On a wooded hillside in Morgedal, this hotel offers an indoor swimming pool in the heart of Telemark. Guests can enjoy free Wi-Fi and the neighbouring ski slalom. Hotel is located in very calm area, surrounded by gorgeous Norwegian wild forests. We have been here out of the main season, thanks to that hotel was pretty empty. For a special attention hotel restaurant deserves. Both breakfasts and dinners are prepared on the highest level. Breakfast is very diverse and beautifully served. You will definitely find something for yourself. For dinner we can have very limited number of dishes but those are amazing. I think it is advantage, because it makes you sure they are made of fresh ingredients. For a special attention deserves the waiter (bald man with a beard and huge muscles 😂). He was very talkative and helpful and professional 👏🏻. (He definitely deserves pay raise 😊) we felt really taken care of.

The orchard was great, fresh plums and apples. Very unique! Full of history! Yummy bfast. Super comfy beds! My elderly parents were given a better room where the bed wasn't so low to the ground. Situated on Lake Vågslidvatn, this hotel is 4 km away from Haukelifjell Ski Centre. It offers free WiFi and accommodation with scenic views. The view from my room was incredible, the receptionist so helpful, the bed and pillows very comfy and the breakfast outstanding

Located 180 km from Oslo, 440 km from Gothenburg, in the heart of Telemark you will find Gausta at 1000 m altitude above Rjukan and Vestfjorddalen. Excellent facilities and view!

Originally built in 1894, Dalen Hotel is situated close to the peaceful shores of the Telemark Canal and Lake Bandak. It offers free WiFi internet and free private parking. All the staff from front desk to restaurant were exceptional. Special praise for Joao and Lorenzo . We learned so much about wine and cocktails from them.

Our 2 nights stay was really exceptional. The beds were incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep after a day of exploring Rjukan town and mountains around. The area was calm and cozy. The staff were fantastic, always attentive and eager to assist with any request. And the breakfasts – they’re simply great! Highly recommend.
