Luxurious ryokan Fuji Onsenji Yumedono is located just 500 metres from Lake Kawaguchiko. It features traditional Japanese cuisine served in the dining area, suites with in-room hot springs and a garden. Beautiful hotel, with private and quiet rooms that were spacious and well kept. Close to the red bus stop 4, Ohashi Bridge and restaurants/supermarket. The staff were friendly, helpful and professional. They organised a taxi for us to get out to Chuerita Pagoda at the crack of dawn. The private onsen and breakfast were the highlights of our stay.

The Japanese-style rooms at Historical Ryokan Hostel K's House Ito Onsen are air-conditioned and come with traditional tatami-mat flooring. Most rooms enjoy beautiful views of the Matsukawa River. This place is such a gem! The atmosphere is surreal, the place very clean and the staff super nice and helpful. We chose the double room with private veranda on the river and we were so happy! We also got to try their private onsen, as well as one of the outdoor onsen they suggest, and were amazed by the experience. The hotel was i a perfect location to reach any place of interest in Ito.

Situated 1.5 km from Takayama Station, Iroriyado Hidaya is a recently renovated 4-star accommodation in Takayama, boasting a garden, a shared lounge and private parking. It is located 2 km from Hida Minzoku Mura Folk Village and features luggage storage space. The ryokan has parking on-site, a hot spring bath and full-day security. Our stay at Iroriyado Hidaya was one of the highlights of our 2-week trip. The hospitality was exceptional, probably the best we've ever experienced even in comparison to other more expensive ryokans. Staff were extremely kind and helpful; we had our own itinerary planned out, but we've seen how they assisted other foreign guests with recommendations to visit around Takayama. We had a Japanese speaker in our group, but the language barrier should not be much of an issue as they use a translation device with international guests. Location is quite a bit of a walk from the station, though we felt that it was worth it and they were extremely willing to help with taxi reservations for the next and subsequent mornings. Very highly recommended to stay here :)

The ryokan is located in a geothermal area, with a number of hot springs nearby for guests to relax in. Had to check in early which wasn't a problem. The two staff were great - they speak English quite well, and were very patient with our very poor Japanese. Dinner + Breakfast is really good (but you do need to let them know you would like to have dinner when you are making your booking).

Atami Sekaie is set in Atami, 2.6 km from Atami Sun Beach, 25 km from Hakone-Yumoto Station, and 35 km from Shuzen-ji Temple. There is an on-site restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available. The accommodation offers a 24-hour front desk.

Mount Daruma is 49 km from the ryokan, while Hakone Checkpoint is 22 km away. The nearest airport is Oshima Airport, 57 km from Atami Sekaie. Everything! The staff were so polite and welcoming. The welcome seating and drink while staff helped us check in was so pleasant, our own personal staff to show us to our room, the beautiful room with all the little details or amenities, our own traditional Yakuta to wear to meals, the private onsen and peaceful nature of the ocean view. Everything was amazing!!
