Kusatsu Onsen Eidaya is located in Kusatsu. The property is a 10-minute walk from Kusatsu Yubatake and Kusatsu-Onsen Bus Terminal. It is a Japanese style inn with retro vibes. Their private onsen's water comes from the very hot spring source of Kusatsu and therefore you can experience the hot spring water without going to the public baths if you are shy. We mostly used them at night when the town's baths are closed since the inn's are 24/7 open. I would recommend to book a japanese style room as it has it's tatami and according decoration and together with the inn's yukata (there is an opt for a colorful one and geta to rent) it gives a more japanese experience. We liked that the inn had slippers for going outside which was convenient as the whole town is full with onsens (even ones that are only for feet) and therefore is more convenient to move in slippers. They have a game area with a lot of retro game (even arcade games) and Nintendo SFC System Video Game Console in the rooms. It may not be in the centre of the town (around 10 min walk for either yubatake or Sainokawara Park and open onsen) but is very close to it and also they offer pick up/drop off from the bus terminal. Staff were very friendly and helped with everything we needed. In our next visit to Kusatsu we are definitely staying there!

Minakamisansou ligger blot 36 km fra Gala Yuzawa Snow Resort og tilbyder indkvartering i Minakami med adgang til udendørs bad, fælles opholdsstue og elevator. We had a lovely view of the mountains. The private onsen was very nice, but the public onsen is very good as well! The staff is very nice and always accomodating. If you like traditional Japanese food, you'll love what they serve during the evening and morning. I recommend to stay at this ryokan either during fall (momiji) or winter. We were a bit too early for the heavy snowfalls, but still managed to catch some snow the second evening. Even without the snow it was lovely. I can imagine it looks amazing with the fall colors!

Soumeian ligger i Kusatsu i Gunma-regionen og tilbyder indkvartering med gratis wi-fi, gratis privat parkering samt adgang til et varmt kildebad. This ryokan was the highlight of our trip to Japan. Excellent seasonal and varied breakfast options, with an attention to detail unparalleled in my travel experience. The soaking pools met our hopes and needs perfectly, and we preferred the private rooms to any of the town’s public onsens. Our room was very comfortable and quiet, and the location was great—away from the hustle and bustle of the main square. Staff were incredible—helpful, welcoming, and friendly despite our limited Japanese language skills! Would highly recommend for a quiet, peaceful stay.

Sekizenkan Kashotei Sanso ligger 36 km fra Ishidan-gai-trappen og tilbyder 4-stjernet indkvartering i Nakanojo samt udendørs bad. Everything!!! Superb food, great and quiet location, excellent staff!!! There was no single thing that we wouldn’t rate AT LEAST 10/10. Greatly recommend staying more than 2 nights, so the atmosphere of the place and climate truly kicks in.

Houshi Onsen Chojukan ligger langs Houshi-floden og byder på offentlig varm kilde, indkvartering i japansk stil med gratis trådløs internetadgang og japansk køkken. Beatiful onsen. The bath is one of the best I’ve experienced in Japan.

Oyado Tamaki har indendørs/udendørs varme kilder og en traditionel have med bænke, hvor gæsterne kan sidde og slappe af. Everything was good/amazing.

Hotellet Takaragawa Onsen Osenkaku er indrettet i japansk stil og ligger 10 minutters kørsel fra skisportsstedet Hodaigi. onsen var meget smukke og varme. det føles privat og roligt, selvom der var andre mennesker. Der var flot udsigt til floden fra værelset.
