Our primary reason for Vantaa was our need to be at the airport very early. The public transport runs super efficiently. We bussed into central Helsinki using 2 routes and both were excellent. Bus stops literally outside the apartment block. The train station is a brisk 10 minute walk away and again super service for Helsinki, the airport or connections to wider Finland.. Locally there's a a couple big supermarkets too.

At this time of year, late April, some of the tourist options dont operate as you might expect aka Hop on/off bus isnt that until into May, (convenient Tourist information at Senate Square in the City Centre. )Olympic Museum may be of interest but wont take that long to look round. Seems if you want the Salmon Soup you had better think about that early on a cold day - initially looks expensive but the pictures show large chunks of fish. Lake Tuulusa can be reached by bus from Kervo rail station - had as short stay there. Harbour boat trip was chilly so went inside after halfhour.

This is close to the airport but some distance from Helsinki. So you need to decide. I was arriving at 10-30 in the evening and my onward flight was next evening. So I booked here, also because they have a free bus service from the airport. But I had a walking tour in Helsinki next morning, and taking time constraints into account I had to take an uber to Helsinki, walk for a ling time with a heavy backpack (my hand luggage), then take a train to Helsinki airport. Not the hotel's problem. Mine. But that is why, if you plan for this kind of thing, be prepared.

No tea or coffee facilities in room.Room ok shower ok beds too small. All in all, adequate for a hostel but as hotels go this was overpriced and inadequate. Hygiene at breakfast questionable. As it was a quick overnight stay we coped could not have stayed longer. Simple light switches may also be an improvement, why do they have to be so tricky?

Great location, almost part of the Helsinki airport, specially if you arrive at night in -20c and walk to the hotel. Great breakfast. Great bed, comfortable and the first time, since we arrived in Finland 12 days back, that we got a large bed with the correct linen. A king size bed with one (1) set of king size linen. Hurray to Hilton Helsinki for being Western orientated in this regard. Every other hotel had a large bed with two (2) sets of single bed linen on it.

This hotel is near to the airport. They have shuttle service from Airport. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. They willingly can answer any of your doubts. There is one room underground where you have microwave, kettle and iron service. Very accomodative place. Our flight was at 6.45am. We had our breakfast there at 3.30am and shuttle service at 4.25am. Very helpful indeed. It is even very clean. Highly recommended for those having transit in Helsinki.
