We love Clitheroe, as we used to reside there.
We love Clitheroe, as we used to reside there. There are plenty of restaurants, and the added bonus of having several small shops, which are a welcome treat as there are so many places where there aren't any small retailers these days, and not everyone wants supermarket shopping especially at Christmas time. Clitheroe is good for walking around, seeing the castle is a bonus, too if you can 'do ' hills okay !

An attractive market town surrounded by beautiful countryside. Lots of independent shops. It does have steep hills so not good for those with mobility difficulties. Lots of parking, reasonable pay and display charges.

I liked it because the views are stunning and that it was a running farm. What, in my opinion, was the hard pillows. I used the bath towels as pillows. I think there should be a choice of hard or soft pillows.

A must stay if you want to relax and find a place to appreciate the countryside and all it has to offer.

Tom's table restaurant is amazing.
Tom's table restaurant is amazing. Holmes Mill and Emporiium very good for lunch. Nice variety of shops. Castle and grounds pleasant for a dog walk. Short drive to Hurst Green for 5.5 mile walk on the Tolkein Trail.

Plenty of shops, cafes, pubs and picturesque churches with Pendle Hill as it's backdrop. The castle is interesting to explore and set in a lovely park, good for short walks. Great destination for real ale drinkers. Bowland Brewery at Holm Mill has good food (and extensive beer choice) and Ice and Spice was a good venue for cooked breakfast.

The staff were friendly- nothing was too much trouble and they did all they could do make our stay comfortable.
Our room was a really good size and gave us plenty of space to spread out and get comfortable.
The location is great too- accross the road from the train station and so close to the centre of town, with lots of cafes and places to eat nearby.
Having on-site parking was a blessing too- so convenient, as we had travelled a long way, it saved us a stress and an extra expense.

What a lovely apartment it was light and airy, Very clean and welcoming. There was also a lovely welcome pack which was very much appreciated
The location could not be better for centre of Clitheroe. The beds were extremely comfortable and even though Clitheroe Food Festival was in full swing the apartment was very quiet. Would Highly recommend.

Beautiful location, Whalley village was stunning with lots of local bars, restaurants, cafes etc. The staff at the Swan Hotel were lovely, really friendly and helpful and are a credit to the company. Free on-site parking is always a bonus as well! The breakfast was also okay with a choice of hot and cold options with juices and tea or coffee.

Stayed for 1 night after walking the Tolkien Trail. The trail runs from the hotel car park. We had lunch and a few drinks afterwards which was very good. The room no12 was spacious very clean and comfortable with modern bathroom. The evening meal was very good along with the cooked breakfast. A great one night stay.
