BelgiumWe use Hotel Nuka as our base in Ilulissat, among various settlement stays in the Disko Bay. Hotel Nuka is an authentic hotel in the heart of Ilulissat. It is not a luxury hotel, but it is fully equipped and has a small kitchen to cook if you wish. The staff is friendly, too friendly. We felt like home. They provide transfers and pickup rides. This is too convenient.
Hotel Nuka does not have view on the icebergs. But we didn't care about that. Because we choose other settlements stays for view.

United KingdomI recently stayed at this amazing hotel and had an absolutely fantastic experience. The sea view room I booked was nothing short of breathtaking! The view of the ocean was spectacular, and the room itself was impeccably designed and well-equipped, offering everything I could possibly need for a comfortable stay.
I would also like to extend my sincere gratitude to the front desk staff. They were incredibly friendly, professional, and efficient. From the moment I arrived, they made sure I felt welcome and at ease. Their attention to detail was exceptional, and they took the time to ensure all my needs were met with patience and care. It really made my stay even more enjoyable.
Overall, I couldn’t be happier with my experience here and will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a perfect getaway. Thank you for making my stay so memorable!

GermanyThis hotel is absolutely incredible! We spent 5 nights here and felt completely at home. The location is perfect in Ilulissat. The starting points of individual tours are easily accessible (also on foot), supermarkets are nearby. Various hiking trails start directly behind the hotel at the small power station, from where you have a perfect view of Disko Bay. From the balcony of the hotel we could see auroras and icebergs. The staff was super friendly and fulfilled our every wish. We would definitely come here again on another trip to Ilulissat! Beautiful hotel! 11 out of 10! :D

NorwayIm very glad I chose this place, I had a very comfortable and pleasant stay here. Center and hiking trails within walking distance, as well as grocery shops and post office. There also was delicious coffee and decent hair dryer in the apartment. Owner is a kind local man who speaks English very well.

United KingdomEverything about Whaletours appartments is exceptional. We were met by Karen and Claus, who were superbly friendly and went above and beyond to help us stay comfortable. The accommodation was top quality, and brand new, as well as well equipped.
We arrived to stay both at the start and end of a 10 day sea kayak expedition, which included a lot of equipment. They were exceptionally helpful in accommodating for this. As one of our client fell ill before the trip they went above and below the call of duty, helping with longer accommodation options and even activities in our absence.
I will 100% stay again, and couldn't praise Claus and Karen higher for their hospitality.

It is likely that during Disco bay icefjiord experience you'll see the wales, so a separate trip to watch wales may not be needed. The icefiord remains the most impressive thing to see from a walking distance and also from a boat. Eqi glacier is nice, but less impressive and takes a long time to go there. Icefiord center is an interesting site to visit, as you'll pass the sledge dog keeping site along the way. Do not touch or try to intervene with digs, as this my end lethaly for... them. I found the place terrible for dogs... and any animals in general, as they are kept on chain. There are plenty of companies to book boat tours, whale watching etc, but we felt inclined to go with the local tour operators, who deserve the business, and really do know so much about the area and how to respect the wildlife. Getting around was easy, as it's a small town, taxis aplenty too. We didn't eat out as we were self-catering. Two good supermarkets in the high street. Ilullisat is absolutely worthy in a trip to Greenland. We have never seen such huge icebers. There are good options to trail in the area (Yellow Trail is the easiest one although is not such easy as it may seen). You move everywhere walking although taxi is not an expensive option. "I love Ilullisat tours" offers very good boat tours. Hangout Bistro is a restaurant with good options for dinner or lunch.Guest review byEduardoSpain - 10.0

Ilulissat is a city providing all services for tourists what the arctic can offer. Tour guides and equipment for hiking on the ice, flying over it or visit it from the sea. The staff is incredibly helpful. The restaurant is excellent (make a reservation, especially when they serve the Greenlandic buffet. And the location is superb! All the while, it feels authentic and Greenlandic, and is easy walking distance to everything in Ilulissat.
