The hosts are very friendly and welcoming. The room was perfectly clean, spotless linen and towels. Perfet English breakfast. Great location, 5 minutes walk from the city center. Highly recommend.

Amazing hotel in an old house with a very large size bedroom, comfortable with bathroom very modern. amazing breakfast included, parking also included and at walking distance to York city center, the minster and the old streets, very nice lady who explained with a map how to reach the top places

We loved how comfortable, friendly and homey it was. We loved that we were met at the train and our luggage was brought back. The room was amazing. it was clean, comfortable and the bath products second to none.

This guesthouse was so fantastic I had to leave a bit of a longer review than i normally would. My wife and I love the city of York anyway so we were excited to be coming back. But walking in the front door of this gorgeous, quirky guesthouse we knew we were in for a treat. We have quirky and eclectic tastes anyway, and this guesthouse far exceeded our expectations. Firstly the room was lovely and comfortable, and we felt right at home. But it's the front 'lounge/chill out' area that is the best thing. It's like stepping into someone's funky lounge room, actually a bit like our place lol. The owner has such great tastes. Lot's of knick knacks everywhere, funky little corners to chill out in, books everywhere to read. We got a great Nepalese takeout from down the road, a bottle of wine, and spent the night together reading some of the books to each other laughing and having such a wonderful and relaxing time. The place is so comfortable, nooky and feels so nice. And super close to town. I would recommend this place to everyone, and we can't wait to stay there again. The staff in the morning we spoke to were super lovely too. I wanted to say to the owner and the staff thank you from my wife and I, and please don't change anything about this place. There are already so many generic boring places out there to stay in. This place's differences are what makes it so refreshing

Very comfortable room, nice beds, very tidy and clean. They also were forthcoming im terms of our EV charging situation. Water boiler allowed us to make some late night tea as well. So in total I would definitely stay here again.

Our stay at Barbican House was amazing. Adorable furnishing and room decor (not only in the room itself but in the house in general as well) made the atmosphere comfortable and cosy. Everything was clean and quiet and our host was very helpful as well. A great place to stay in York. I will be back!!
