The location is excellent and well situated in the heart of the Gerés Region. São Bernardo de Claravel offers very clean rooms, each with it's own wc/shower and comfortable beds (appreciated after a long day's hike or walk). A shared kitchenette, on the lower level, is available to guests. It has a sitting/relaxing area, a microwave, a kettle, crockery, cutlery and a Delta Coffee machine (espressos, cappuccinos, etc at a fair price). Visitors can enjoy the beauty of the region by visiting the rural villages,the stunning waterfalls, forests, hike, picnic, mediate at São Bento da Porta Aberta, enjoy massages at the São Bento Hotel and finish the day with sundowners on the Orange Tree courtyard which overlooks the Caniçada Dam.
