We had dinner at The Ivy and were able to just walk there and back. Room was quite small but fine for our one night stay. Easy to recommend.

There is also limited, onsite private parking. Beautiful boutique hotel in a Georgian building, that is very well kept. They added all these nice touches with the music playing from the radio in the room and being able to play records from the record player in the room. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely. The location is just next to the Pulteney bridge, but it’s just outside of the main city centre, so it’s a little quieter.

Guests can relax in the lounge with open fireplace and comfortable sofas. I loved everything about this property! From the moment I checked in, I felt welcomed. The bed and room were comfortable, the shower was great, and the breakfast was delicious. There was even an honor food and beverage bar where I could slip down late at night and get a drink and snack, which was much appreciated.

With just 5 rooms, you can be sure of a friendly, personal service and a warm welcome. The B&B is ideally located within walking distance of the key sites, yet removed enough from the centre to provide a quiet spot to relax after a day of site seeing. The room was very comfortable, clean & beautifully decorated. However, what makes Chestnuts exceptional is the delightful host, Toni, & thoughtful touches such as the homemade sweet treats left in the room each day. It was lovely to have a small piece of cake with a cup of tea. It was also nice that there was fresh milk in the fridge. The breakfasts were extraordinary & among the best I have ever had at a hotel or B&B. I was surprised by the choice on the menu, allowing for something different each morning (e.g. delicious full English, eggs Royal with smoked salmon, eggs Florentine). Toni was easy to communicate with, prompt in responding to queries in advance of arrival & a wonderful host. It was a fantastic experience & we very much look forward to a future opportunity to stay at Chestnuts B&B again.

Grays Boutique Bed and Breakfast mixes original character and antique furniture with modern comforts. All rooms are elegantly decorated and offer a flat-screen TV with Freeview and a modern bathroom with power shower and luxury Caroline Henry toiletries. The breakfast was AMAZING. All the staff were delightful. Eliza was welcoming and very helpful. We loved it.

It was nice to have a little fridge in the room, and great to have access to a microwave, dishes and cutlery.
