Exceptional hosts The hosts of Tamarind were truly fantastic. Extremely friendly, great hospitality and you can really sense how much they care for the well-being of their guests. They gave us so much assistance in how to move around Ayutthaya and beyond (there were bus and train schedules nicely displayed on the wall), what places should be at the top of our list, (recommended the boat tour which was very nice!) and food recommendations (also prominently displayed!). They were there to provide "first aid" in the form of congee for my travelling companion who had a bout of indigestion and some OTC medicines too. Even though our lodging did not include food, we were still provided with good coffee, toast and cakes! Koy is a wonderful baker - if you are lucky, you may get to try her banana and coconut cake! Yumz! 2. Great location Just across the road from Wat Mahathat so we were the first persons into this site and were able to spend time there before the crowds came in. Also just a very short walk to the night market which is ultra-convenient. 3. Clean rooms with good functioning air-conditioning - lovely to come back to after time out in the hot weather in Ayutthaya.
