RoheN HAKONEYUMOTO in Hakone provides adults-only accommodation with a garden, a shared lounge and a terrace. The atmosphere and staff were amazing. We were able to really relax in candlelight in the evenings with good food. Also the fact that a good breakfast was included, plus a welcome drink.

Located in Nikko, 18 km from Tobu Nikko Station, K's House Nikko - Kinugawa Onsen Hostel provides accommodation with a shared lounge, free private parking and a terrace. One of the best hostels I've stayed at in term of facilities. Great onsen, balcony and common areas. Nice hikes around.

HakoneHOSTEL1914 is located in Hakone, 6 km from Hakone-Yumoto Station. Train and bus services are available. All rooms are air conditioned. Shared bathroom. Kana-San, the owner, did a wonderful job from the beginning of making me feel welcome and at home (thank you so much for the Venetian Glass Museum ticket!).The private room was lovely, a great experience of living a small part of the house's long history.

Nestled a 15-minute up-hill walk or a 4-minute bus ride away from Hakone Yumoto Station, Onsen Hostel K's House Hakone offers free WiFi throughout the entire property and an open-air hot-spring bath. Easily the most positive surprise during my trip as I booked the last available bed quite late. Very good bed(double in the dorm room), comfortable with quite a lot of storage space and your own window! They change towels daily as well which was a big plus. Toilets outside of the room which is always great, the onsen was such an amazing thing to have right in the hostel after a day of hiking, it’s small but can fit about 8 people and is a very relaxing experience. The staff were very nice and helpful with good tips for hiking and food in the area. The common areas! They were truly amazing with nice decor and good facilities, the kitchen well-stocked and two guest fridges. The main living room is spacious with plenty of seating and various board games to be played and a terrace! Overall it was an amazing stay and I didn’t not expect to meet such great people. The walk to the hostel from the station is not that bad! Just a steep incline for about 5 minutes other than that pretty easy if you just have a backpack.

Situated within 38 km of Nikko Station and 38 km of Tobu Nikko Station, Guesthouse Kincha 駅東口 features rooms with air conditioning and a shared bathroom in Utsunomiya. Very friendly and helpful host. Chatted with him and another guest until night. As a foreigner, the traditional house was a nice cozy experience.

Set within 200 metres of The Shitaya Shrine and 600 metres of Tokaku-ji Temple, 上野之家分館家庭房 offers rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Tokyo. The flat is very well located. 5 minutes walk from Ueno station . It is very well equipped and comfortable and clean.

Located in Kawagoe, ちゃぶだい Guesthouse, Cafe&Bar features a garden, terrace, bar, and free WiFi throughout the property. The staff were so helpful arranging for my bass to be forwarded to my next hotel and kind and amazing and I really loved that bowl of bean curry I had for lunch

Featuring a terrace, bar and views of river, Hostel Chapter Two Tokyo is located in Tokyo, 100 metres from Asakusa Station. Good location with the local house style accommodation. Lovely deck for early night and a good view . I love Welcome-Beer. So next time I will stay in this hostel.

Attractively set in the Nakano district of Tokyo, GrapeHouse Koenji is situated 500 metres from Keimei Park, less than 1 km from Yamato Park and a 8-minute walk from Mabashi Park. So clean, they clean everyday and it’s always spotless. The host is so lovely. Her dog is so cute and friendly too! Sometimes he’ll greet you at the door, this meant so much to me especially when I was missing my dog at home. The neighborhood is AMAZING. I love Koenji so much. A perfect, calm getaway from the city with still plenty of things to do. Great restaurants, thrifting, karaoke, parks, and Japanese vibes. Also Nakano is a 20 min walk away and they have a mall with Uniqlo and everything else you’d need. It’s easy to meet other people and make friends! Women-only was awesome and made me feel really safe. I can’t wait to go back and spend my entire Japan trip here. I shouldn’t have bothered with any other hotels. Nothing compares to Grapehouse Koenji!
