Sea Sand Resort features a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Kalpitiya. The property is around 200 metres from Kandakuliya Beach, 600 metres from Kudawa Beach and 2.1 km from Kalpitiya Beach. If you never been to Kalpitiya, it has a sense of being on the outskirts of civilization. Here you stay nestled among the houses of the locals and share the beach with its fishermen. Beside great kite- and windsurfing (and endless beaches of course), there is not a ton of things to do in Kalpitiya. Scuba diving is good, when there is visibility. Dolphin watching is also a possible activity, but quite an expensive one that last a couple of hours. You won’t find any city center with shops, bars and restaurants near, but you can of course visit other resorts and use their facilities. However you should know that you have a very good restaurant on site if you stay at the Sea Sand Resort! This establishment is made up of about 10 small bungalows with a restaurant. The bungalows are quite basic, but very clean and comfortable and represents good value for money. Within about 10 minutes or more on foot, you can reach surf schools and beaches. From my own experience I can promise that you will be very well taken care off if you chose to stay at Sea Sand Resort.

We felt taken care of from the minute we got there till the minute we left, our room was amazing, and after riding our bikes 35 km up the coast, we can honestly say that it’s the nicest hotel from Negombo to the end of our ride. Stay here!! Another big bonus: I had a bad cold and the owner made sure I get medicine which worked like a charm. Thank you so much!!

Really cool tree house rooms on the peninsula. The host and cook is amazing and he makes delicious meals. The rooms are clean and spacious. The bathroom is partially open air which was really cool. The hammocks and tables made it a peaceful haven. The pool was still being made when I went but it will be a really nice addition. I highly recommend this place.

Set in Wilpattu, The Backwaters Lodge offers accommodation with seating area. Featuring a 24-hour front desk, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. The staff were incredible, so kind and helpful. We felt completely spoiled. Very easy to communicate with and they also helped book the safari and transportation to our next location. Food was so delicious.

Sandy Edge has garden views, free WiFi and free private parking, situated in Kalpitiya, 400 metres from Kudawa Beach. There is a private entrance at the chalet for the convenience of those who stay. Overall the place has very rustic view and the cottages were very independent and I liked a lot. It was quite windy so the sound from palm trees were amazing in the night. Great decorations and very very good food and hosts. We really felt comfortable and would definitely visit again.
